Casa Smilin' Dog

Great owners, great property, very enjoyable stay.

Pros: The property owners met our taxi on the street in front of Smilin Dog. Can’t beat that. They were very lovely and reacted quickly to resolve issues, give advice when asked, and act as tourist information guides. They were great. Our apartment overlooked a remarkable garden with many trees including a grove of full grown bamboo.

Cons: Our apartment was very private, clean, comfortable and very close to the beach. It had a great outside kitchen, which was a first for us, which had everything we might need to prepare meals and perfect considering the very warm/hot temperatures of Tamarindo. There was also a shared bbq, always perfectly clean, in the back yard garden. To be honest, there was nothing that we didn’t like.

Will be back for sure

Probably the go to accommodation for a Costa Rican atmosphere in Tamarindo!

Pros: The stay was incredible. Couldn’t ask for a better location, everything is walking distance. Andy & Rowena are extremely hospitable and the accommodation itself is very cute with the apartment super spacious. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Tamarindo! (It also feels very safe).

Cons: Nothing at all.

No battling hotel maids and loud neighbors!!

Pros: Location perfect. Very secure with two gates into compound. Quiet. Easy walking to everything. Close to bus stop to San Jose and airport. No need for a car. NOT a party hotel. Spacious bathroom and shower, good towels. BEACH CHAIRS!!! Easy to carry ones. Recommend highly for laid back people looking to chill.

Cons: Not a luxury hotel but we loved the peace and quiet and private garden patio with full sized fridge, stove, microwave and padded rocking chairs. Really can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

Quiet, Well-equipped, Comfortable place in the Heart of the Action of Tamarindo

Pros: What a great place! Located at the south end of the madness of Tamarindo, just a very short walk to the beach, this place was much quieter and more secluded feeling than I had feared. Hosts are an older Elglish couple who were very nice and helpful. Kitchen was outside and very well equipped. Romm was a good size with a very comfortable ans spacious king bed. Very good pillows as well. A/C worked well. Good hot water with excellent pressure in the shower. Wi-fi was stable and fast. Outside kitchen area had a large eating table and additional relaxing chairs. Safe was provided. Really good laundry facilities, 2 washers and dryers. Less than a five minute walk to where all the activity boats pick up on the beach, across the street from the food truck park for a variety of interesting food, steps to groceries and beverages, just a great location.

Cons: Parking is not provided. I had no problem parking on the street across the road for 9 days, but it may make some people nervous. The drain in the shower sometimes had difficulty keeping up with the water pressure.

Wonderful people, great location, relaxing vibes.

Pros: This was such a great place to stay! Wonderful location while being able to escape the sounds of town. The hosts were such lovely people too and their kindness and genuine interest in our experiences from eating out to surfing was very sweet.

Cons: Our only comment of the property pertains to room 4- at the time of our stay the mattress itself was a bit too firm for my husband and I to get comfortable on- especially after surfing all day. It was a personal preference but did not detract from our overall experience.

Emplacement idéal et super logement!

Pros: Propriétaires très aidant! L’espace de vie confortable. A proximité de tout, de la plage et des commerces!

Einwandfrei, konnte dort entspannt und sicher meinen Urlajb genießen.

Pros: Die Wohnung war Wunderschön hergerichtet. Ich hab mich super Safe gefühlt. Und es war trotz der Regen Zeit trocken und Sauber. Die Betreiber waren beide wahnsinnig nett und zuvorkommend. Ich habs sehr genossen mich mit Ihnen zu unterhalten. Es gab auch eine Waschmaschine und einen Trockner, was für mich persönlich auch sehr wichtig ist.

Pros: The owner we're awesome, very welcoming. Location is very quite, close to everything. 2 minute walk to the beach, supermarket, atm's, restaurants, ect. You get a full kitchen on a nice little patio in a tropical garden setting. I loved this place and would stay here again

Cons: There was nothing I was disappointed with. Everything was what I expected.

Pros: Localização muito boa em Tamarindo, perto de tudo. Fizemos tudo a pé. Andy e Rowena são pessoas especiais, muito boa gente. Local bacana para quem quer gastar pouco e ficar bem localizado pra tudo em Tamarindo.

Cons: Nossos vizinhos americanos eram um tanto barulhentos, mas não tem haver com o local, e sim nosso azar de ter vizinhos sem noção. Ficavam conversando alto até tarde e fumando cigarro que vinha até nosso apto. Enfim, incomodou bastante a estadia.
