Casa Cora Bed and Breakfast

Absolutely fantastic!

Pros: Cora is an amazing host and was so kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. She gave us some restaurant recommendations for lunch (Caris in Carmona serves delicious food) and then cooked us supper in the evening. It was a wonderful stay in her beautiful home with a spectacular garden and small coffee farm. The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a feast and included Cora’s own lovely coffee to drink.It was very interesting learning about life in Costa Rica. Cora was also very patient allowing us to practice our Spanish - we learned more Spanish in one night than 2 years agora of Duolingo!

Pros: It’s a very authentic experience seeing a real house talking to local people, enjoying their warm hospitality. I would highly recommend to anyone who is curious about local culture. I came with my husband and six years old son

A very enjoyable stay

Pros: Cora is a fantastic hostess; very helpful and welcoming. She helped us arrange a tour with a local guide and gave us much information about the local area, traditions, family life etc. A very enjoyable stay. The village nearby, Carmona, is within walking distance (about 1 mile) and it was interesting to explore a small countryside Costa Rican town far from the tourist hot spots.

Cons: We have no complaints at all but there are a couple of things you should know before booking: The hostess speaks very limited English. This is not a hotel/pension so you will share living space, kitchen, garden etc with the family. You do have your bedroom and private bath room. Payment is cash only (colones or dollars)

An authentic Costa Rican home.

Pros: The host kindly made us an amazing authentic Costa Rican breakfast and bravely held engaging conversations with us even though we didn't speak Spanish fluently. She showed us her farm and explained Costa Rican culture to us. It was our first night and morning in Costa Rica and it felt more authentic than any where else that we stayed.

Cons: I forgot that I had to pay in person. A reminder email would be nice, since I booked the place several months in advance.

A gem to return to

Pros: Hospitality is extraordinary. Host is happy to help with everything and accomodate. Food is wonderful. Rooms and house is cozy. Feels like a summerhouse of your own where you wouldnlove to come back again

Pros: Very nice host family - superb breakfast 🍳. We really loved it 😍 BTW: For dinner we can recommend the restaurant cadiz which is nerby (25 by walk / 5 mins drive)

Cons: Make sure you bring cash with you

A delightful stay in an idyllic place

Pros: * Cora’s hospitality, storytelling, and generosity * incredible breakfast with high quality local ingredients * super safe and convenient location (on the way from Arenal to Santa Teresa) * tour of the amazing garden

Cons: * no hot water in the shower * dust coming into the shower and bedroom through unsealed windows

Pros: Beautiful home. Delicious breakfast. It was great to talk with Cora and learn about Costa Rica.

Un séjour chez l habitant très agréable

Pros: La gentillesse de la maîtresse de maison et de sa fille, la possibilité d échanger avec des costaricains. Il y a des restaurants aux alentours donc pas de soucis pour manger. Le petit déjeuner costaricain était excellent. La climatisation

Cons: Le lit était un peu petit pour 2 adultes. La douche était froide mais je pense que cela est normal, c’est une ancienne bâtisse typique.

A special place to connect and recharge.

Pros: Cora and her home are a fantastic addition to your travels. The care and zest in all she does is remarkable. We felt safe and grounded amidst the gentle fields and numerous fruit trees surrounding the home. Super clean, good AC, more food then you can eat, fresh coffee grown on site, alot of care goes into everything around you. Very family friendly.

Cons: A crib would be good for babies ;)
