Paradise

Pros: The setting is stunning, the accommodation is very private, the owners were incredibly welcoming and happy to help with anything.

Cons: We only stayed 2 nights.

Pros: The excellent Ambience curated with the kindness of Marcus and Eva . This is a place to relax and endulge. The pool is super clean and the sun terrace offers both a breeze, shade and birdwatching.

Pros: Fresh homemade excelent breakfast. Jam, bread, yoghurt, etc all made by the hosts in the morning and tasted wonderful. We were lucky and got to have Marcos homemade dinner which was a delightful experience. Wonderful inviting hosts. We really enjoyed our stay and hope we will be back some day!

Pros: Awesome breakfast. Very nice welcome by a German couple. Hard to get there especially during rainy season but definitely worth it.

Pros: Absolutely everything!!! The hosts, the place, the food and the jungle!

An oasis on top of the hill

Pros: The lodge is located inside a lush jungle pocket at the top of the first hill / mountain from the ocean, with unparalleled views of the Pacific (you can see the waves breaking). The property has a fantastic cooled pool and a jacuzzi, with an extended terrace with sun-beds overlooking the jungle and the ocean. The room we stayed in was very spacious, boasted modern amenities, and had it’s own patio with a couch and a hammock (again, overlooking the ocean). Eva and Markus are extremely kind and two marvellous human beings with interesting stories and a sincere interest in their guests. The breakfast they make is otherworldly, with homemade yogurt, bread, and a huge selection of homemade jams. Their dogs, Brava and Nera, are sweet and playful. I highly recommend the Palmetto lodge and my only regret is that we stayed just one night.

One glorious stay.

Pros: The gloriously friendly and wonderful welcome from hosts Markus & Eva set the scene for an amazing few days. To top this off, the views are stunning. The stylish, smart, super clean rooms are very spacious with a comfortable bed. Our room was one without aircon, so we slept with the sound of the sea. The breakfast was the best we had on our two week road trip tour. Only one other place came close. Dinner was superb and highly recommend you pre-book yourself in for a night. Seriously enjoyed. Finally do ask Markus for a cocktail or better still, several, they will most definitely put an even bigger smile on your face!

Cons: Do communicate before arrival, when Markus will be cooking up a feast. As here, most nearby restaurants open and close on different days, so it's good to get that planned. All easy enough.

Beautiful, quality stay with exceptional hosts. Would stay again.

Pros: Beautiful iews overlooking the Pacific ocean. Clean and refreshing swimming pool and spa pool. Eva and Markus were super hosts; there when you needed them and discreet when not. Breakfast was fantastic. About 1km from the beach. We really had a most relaxing time.

Cons: Get a 4x4 if possible. The roads to the location are rough, rubble roads. We managed to get there in a people carrier, but much better if you have a 4x4. Accessing the house without a 4x4 is very difficult, but Eva and Markus were super accommodating in letting us park our car at the bottom of the driveway and then picking us up, and dropping us down.

Great place, amazing hosts !

Pros: Everything was already said about the apartments and the owners. Ewa and Markus are the perfect hosts, from the moment you arrive you feel as part of the family. Their dedication to their hosts is sincere and the property reflects their taste and attention to detail. The property is perched on a hill overlooking the ocean and the gorgeous sunsets. The casitas are of the highest quality, cleanliness and comfort. Everything is there to make your stay agreable and unforgettable. We for sure will always remember our stay at Palmetto, the great bed and shower, the fine breakfasts and and refined suppers, Markus' choice of wines, Ewa's advice and kindness and of course the pool and the sunsets. Playa San Miguel is one of the best beaches around.

Cons: The road to get there is one thing that can be improved.

A hidden delight up a steep hill

Pros: Great breakfast. Lovely bed. Wonderful hosts who were very friendly. We only stayed for one night but were treated like kings for the duration of the stay. Watch out of the tricky drive up the hill, but once you're up there everything is great.

Cons: Air con should be added to the rooms, but we could cool off in the pool so that was a decent alternative. I could imagine that the hands-on approach from the hosts could be a little overbearing for some, but we thought it was friendly.
