Cosy cabin surrounded by nature and birds

Pros: The broad terrace of the cabin is an excellent spot for bird watching. You can easily spot 40 species (with a bit of patience and experience), like different tanagers, wood creepers, woodpeckers, crested guans, wrens etc. The Rio Celeste area is beautiful, but the access roads are challenging in the rainy season. It is better to visit this place in the dry season.

Cons: We expected two bedrooms as described in the Booking ad, but it is an open space. The double bed is separated by a wooden screen.

Rural, gorgeous, local, great

Pros: We loved the whole aesthetic of the lodge, was a gorgeous hut with cowboy features and completely wooden in a lovely local village

Cons: The first time we drove down was a little bit daunting after doing it once was fine, directions from host were great though

A slice of tropical heaven

Pros: This is an amazing stay, such a high quality property, comfortable bed, clean, suitable kitchen for the amount of food prep we did. 4x4 is essential, bird life activity is captivating. If only all properties were this good. No WiFi signal or data , not a problem but good to be aware and bring cash to pay . Enjoy, we certainly did.

Pros: It was our favourite stay in all of Costa Rica. The lodge is amazing! Big recommendation to anyone staying in the area.

Best place we have stayed in Costa Rica

Pros: Fantastic lodge with beautiful terrace. We’ve stayed in 10 different accomodations in CR, but this has to be the best one. Kitchen fully equipped. Was little worried about getting there but got very accurate directions from the host also lady was waiting to let us in. Would 100% stay again.

Cons: No wifi (4G mobile internet worked so no issue for me)

Pros: I had an amazing time at Papaya Lodge! Every morning, I was lucky enough to have toucans and hummingbirds visit right outside my window, along with other beautiful birds. Honestly, it was exactly how I imagined Costa Rica. The whole experience was above my expectations. It felt like being a modern-day Robinson Crusoe, but with all the comfort. The beds were very confortable and the terrasse (with jungle view) was great. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful escape with a touch of adventure. I will be back for sure !

Pros: Le calme. La beauté de l'endroit. L'originalité du logement. Le réveil avec une multitude d'oiseaux ou d'écureuils.

Séjour parfait et en immersion. Expérience dépaysante. Cabane idylique !

Pros: Tout! La cabane est très authentique. Elle nous a permis de nous mettre tout de suite dans l'ambiance de la jungle. Une cabane très bien construite qui fait rever. Belle terrasse, avec vu sur les différents animaux que nous avons pu voir. La literie était très bonne et les mousticaires nécessaires.

Cons: Malgré les photos et bonnes explications de l'hôte avant notre arrivée, nous avons eu du mal à trouver. L'eau de la douche pas très chaude, mais l'hôte a été très réactive pour nous aider. Les mousticaires sont nécessaires et le répulsif d'insectes aussi....

Dépaysant, hébergement charmant

Pros: Déconnexion totale. Le chalet est magnifique et bien décoré. Entouré de verdure et les toucans sont partout autour de nous.

Cons: Attention, la route d’accès est très difficile sans 4x4. 5km de piste très cabossée.
