A great place , in a wonderful nature with kind host.

Pros: The place was lovely, the house is clean, well equipped. It is definitely a great nature around the house. Gabriela , her husband and their children were so kind. We appreciated to have the opportunity to discuss and discover their farm eco-project. If we come back again, we will stay for a longer stay without any doubt

A truly wonderful place for nature lovers with outstanding hosts.

Pros: Superb breakfasts were brought hot to our cabin at a time to suit us. Different each day reflecting local culture and using much of the farms produce. The hosts are friendly and kind. We had no transport. Isolated location but they drove or arranged lifts to local shops, pharmacy and activities. Eg. Thermal Springs and chocolate making on a cocoa farm. Showed us Sloths and Toucans and explained nature in the forest. Allowed us to milk their cow! Used a translator app to converse well. Invited us to eat at their house with them and their sons. The home made, spring fed pool is another joy. An outstanding weeks holiday.

Pros: PLEASE, TRUST US!! :) Over 3 weeks in Costa Rica this accommodation stands above all. Most people travel with a rental car, this allows to pick Gamgas Lodge and have a really really magnificent experience (La Fortuna is 20 min away and not worth a stay in the “city”). The location Gambas Lodge instead is worth every penny: private natural pool, basically private access to the rain forest (we even spot a sloth), incredibly good breakfast, fully fitted house and most importantly a heart warming local family that completes the entire experience. We loved their passion for sustainability and got a unique insight into how they run a small scale farm with limited ecological impact. Visit Gambas Lodge and thanks us later 😏

Great stay for families that like to be surrounded by nature

Pros: The location. 20-30min away from the busy La Fortuna and here just yourself in the jungle in between animals. Also breakfast was amazingly done by the hostess

If you are in La Fortuna this is the place to stay!

Pros: Everything. The location is really amazing. The lodge is sourrounded by trees, so it felt like being in the jungle. The lodge is very spaceious and well equipped. Gabriela prepared us an excellent vegan breakfast each morning. The lodge also has a nice balcony from which we were able to see a lot of different birds. The family was really welcoming and even gave us a tour of their small farm and showed us how to make sugar cane juice, which tasted really good.

Cons: About 25 Minutes away from La Fortuna but definetly worth the drive!

Amazing nature, warm and friendly hosts, good location

Pros: The house is located in beautiful nature - you feel like you’re fully immersed in it. The place is very clean and comfortable and a big thank you to the host family who are extremely nice and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay excellent!

A wonderful stay in perfect accommodation with generous welcoming hosts.

Pros: It was a magical stay. Gabriela and her family were such kind and generous hosts. They taught us so much about the area and their way of life. The lodge was beautiful and clean. The natural pool was amazing. We saw lots of wildlife and really enjoyed the walk the family had built. A truly amazing and unforgettable stay. We hope to be back one day Gabriela! Thank you.

Great hosts and accomodation!

Pros: This was exceptional experience which made out trip unforgetable. Accomodation has beautiful rainforest, garden and natural pool. We felt safe and comfortable. If you are lucky enough you can see some tropical birds every morning. House is really cozy and clean Hosts are on another level and we have never experienced anything like this. They made sure that our needs are met at any moment and we really felt like part of their family. If we ever come to Costa Rica again we will choose this accomodation for sure. 10/10

Off the beaten path, lovely cabana immersed in nature.

Pros: Home made breakfast from the hosts, immersion in nature, all types of birds flying over our heads and on the feeding platform, amazing natural pool and the kindest family running the cabana, trying to make us feel comfortable all the time.

Cons: Nothing.

Oasis of peace in the jungle

Pros: A beautiful place, warm people, great location right on the edge of the forest where you can watch birds. The breakfast was delicious. There is a little sloth in the garden and we were able to press sugar cane ourselves with the family. Our wishes were read from our lips. The pool is filled with water from its own spring. The house is clean and made with love. La Fortuna can be reached in 20 minutes by car.
