Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Nice, calm location close to the forest.

Cons: Water wasn't draining in the shower. It would be nice to have more shelves.

Excellent value, great location, quality finish

Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Owners were very friendly and arranged the boats to and from tortuguero. Also took a lovely, well priced canoe trip. The breakfast was excellent. Location was close to beach and backed onto forest. In two hours sitting on the balcony I saw spider monkeys, macaws, 5 iguanas and montezuma opopendulas nesting. Also very good air conditioning!

Well equippped and comfortable

Pros: The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. There is a nice seating area on the balcony. The host is very helpful. He also offers various tours, however, we had already made arrangements of our own

Cons: The shower is a mere trickle. The outside stairs are quite slippery.

Lovely modern apartment with helpful host. I highly recommend'

Pros: Hugo the host was excellent, helping to arrange arrival by boat and then various excursions. The accommodation was of a high standard / modern and I have no trouble in recommending .... and I am a fussy person. I would also recommend the guided night walk Hugo arranged with Bernardo. It was fascinating and we saw so much wildlife that we wouldn't have seen without his expert knowledge.

Cons: Nothing really ..... the shower water pressure is low, but it wasn't a major issue because the apartment and other facilities made up for it.

Lovely place but beware of guided tours

Pros: The room is almost new and feels very fresh. It was very clean. It’s on the smaller side if four people stay there, but as a couple we found its size more than enough. The AC works really well and there is a kitchenette with pots and pans provided. The bathroom is fresh and spacious. The water pressure is not the best but it didn’t bother us. The host, Hugo, is lovely and seemed friendly and welcoming. Responses to our messages were fast.

Cons: Seemingly, everything you do in Tortuguero (tours, transport) is connected to the hotel you stay at. We opted for two tours, the first one being the canoe one. We got B as the guide, and albeit he was familiar with Tortuguero, we found it very hard to communicate with him due to language barriers. Further, he was short in his answers and explanations, and generally seemed disinterested in sharing knowledge. He did not strike us as an official guide. This caused us to go to another tour agency on the island, to book a tour for a night walk. The agency displayed faces of licensed tour guides. We booked the tour and were happy that we now would get a proper, certified guide. At the booking, they ask us which hotel we stayed at (this is a recurring question when you want to book some service on the island). We couldn’t believe our eyes when at the start of the tour, we were once again guided by B.

Dream days in Tortuguero.

Pros: We loved staying at Hugo and Ailin's place. It's located almost right next to Tortuguero National Park and offers everything you need for a few days in nature. The accommodation is of high quality compared to other Airbnbs in the area, and it's more affordable than a hotel. Ailin was an excellent host and even helped arrange tours for us. We were expected at La Pavona and then again upon our arrival in Tortuguero at Muelle Principal, making our arrival smooth and well-organized. I would also recommend this place for families with children. There are two large beds, a small kitchenette, air conditioning, and even a flat-screen TV with Netflix and more.

Cons: There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Pros: Très bon accueil dès le débarcadère. Petite entreprise familiale où tous les membres sont impliqués et chaleureux. Merci à Hugo pour la visite matinale guidée en barque. Très professionnel et il parle un français parfait !

Pros: Petit hotel au cœur de Tortuguerro Visite du parc en français avec Hugo le propriétaire. Il s'occupe de tout. Chambres confortables

Super!

Pros: Le personnel est super et Hugo parle français. Faire les excursions avec Hugo furent un plus à notre séjour. Beaucoup de singes araignées et d’oiseaux autour de l’hébergement

Une impression de bout du monde

Pros: Hugo est très disponible. Il parle courament français. Une impression positive pour nous dès notre arrivée à La Pavona , du parking gardé jusqu'à l'hotel H/L en passant par la gestion des navettes fluviales (on n'a jamais vu une telle organisation dans tous nos voyages). Sortie en canot pour s'approcher de certains animaux, de très près parfois, sortie nocturne proche du village très fructueuse, mais pour la visite dans le parc national, malheureusement trop de pluie, de boue, et aucun animal ! Chambre propre, eau chaude. Petit déjeuner correct, son épouse est sympathique. Wifi fonctionne bien. Endroit calme, facile de se promener dans le village.

Cons: Le mauvais temps (mais que pouvait y faire Hugo ?)
