Pros: Patricia, Ronny, Sebastian and Sylvia where the best hosts ever. This family are kindest people. They couldn’t do enough for us. The lodge itself was beautiful. Food amazing. Birds wow.

Pros: Huge room with a balcony over looking the garden. Is it possible to have a better breakfast, tea on the balcony with toucans in the garden The Hotel Manager is really helpful and service minded and he will help you with everything you need. Big rooms and there is a desk to work with your laptop if you have any bird pictures. Good internet! The only thing, I am alone so no problem. Very big room with an open floor plan and the bathroom is not exactly private. But if you are alone it is a very big and nice room. They arrange birding tours from the hotel and there are many birds in the area. Highly recommended and I will be back.

Cons: The water could have been warmer

Great birding hotel.

Pros: Rooms were good. Daisy and Carol were great cooks. Andrey, the manager is very knowledgeable about birds and more than willing to help with info of birding sights off the property. Although, birding on the property was excellent.

Cons: No doors on the bathrooms. Beds were not very comfortable. No housekeeping, if that's what you need. But we didn't care. Too busy enjoying.

Pros: A beautiful, newer property nestled off a quiet hillside road. The food and birding were amazing, with knowledgeable helpful staff. The activity around the multiple hummingbird feeders on the front deck provided amazing natural entertainment.

Pros: Superb location great set up for bird photography Andrey and Daisy were absolutely superb looking after our needs and requests the food Daisy cooked was wonderful and Andrey was knowledgeable and very helpful with birding including taking us out of the property to the local village to find the Sun Bittern

Pros: Nice rooms in a common building. Dining area was open to the kitchen. Nice atmosphere. Natural setting with good birdwatching. Natural ponds as well. A second, separate raised deck is great for relaxing and birds as well. Staff was amazing. Andre always helped us with birding the gardens, and took us right to the Sunbittern on the first morning. Daisy is an amazing chef. Daisy was always busy, too busy. Daisy prepared delicious food and took care of our dietary requirements. Daisy made the best chicken spaghetti, I have ever tasted. I would eat at her restaurant.

Cons: A door to the bathroom would be more normal. Walls too. Even a curtain in the doorway to the bathroom would help.. A couple of comfy chairs on the main floor would have been nice.

Pros: Eine etwas andere Unterkunft, großes Haus, viele riesige Fenster, das Erdgeschoss komplett offen , schönes, großes Zimmer mit Balkon und Aussicht in den Garten/ die Berge/ das Tal, eine sehr nette Mitarbeiterin, die sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und hilfsbereit war und sich um uns gekümmert hat. Wirklich sehr viele Vögel direkt morgens auf der Terrasse zu beobachten, Kolibris dicht auf Augenhöhe, sehr netter Kontakt beim Essen mit den wenig anderen Gästen, die da waren, alles ruhig und entspannt....

Cons: Auch wenn das Zimmer sehr schön war, sollte doch zumindest ein Vorhang den Toilettenbereich abschirmen, auch für Paare nicht so angenehm, dass die Toilette so einsichtig ist. Der Weg ist - wie oft in Costa Rica- mit einem robusten Auto ( Jeep etc..) am besten zu meistern...

A good place to see and photograph birds ( especially sunbitterns). Everyone is friendly and helpful.

Pros: Modern facility in a good location. Several bird feeders and a good variety of birds. The staff is courteous and very helpful. The owner is friendly and eager to help. The best part was the presence of sunbitterns that were easily approachable to take photos.

Cons: The room design could have been better. The trail system was not developed (maybe it will be in the future.

Pros: Tout ! Magnifique endroit très agréable bons repas pour des prix raisonnables. Très agréable de passer une journée sur la terrasse avec les colibri et autres oiseaux qui viennent. Lits très confortables.

Pros: I am used to air conditioned housing environment, which is rare in Costa Rica.
