Hostel Plinio

Pros: Lovely hostel, friendly staff and ideal location. The facilities were great, with an added bonus of watching the parrots flying to their nest in the trees morning and evening. I would recommend!

Cons: There could have been more bathroom facilities.

Very good stay

Pros: Some cabins in the nature, with a beautiful pool vue on the sunset. Perfect for birdwatching. Staff were great. Our room was good, very basic with no AC as described when we booked it (temperature was ok with the fan). The shared bathroom is clean and quite big.

Cons: Very tiny room, a bit noisy.

Pros: We loved the jungle feeling in the hostel, we even saw parrots! Everything (including the pool) was clean. The bus stop is right outside the hostel so it is very easy to go to the beach, the town or the national park. Josh at reception was great!

Pros: Staff was very friendly. Bed was comfortable. There was a lot of space to chill, with tables, couches, hammocks.

Cons: The pool was a bit dirty (leaves and hairs in the water). The wait for the shared bathroom was sometimes a bit long.

Really nice stay

Pros: The place is really nice, we liked the beds and wood everywhere. And chillout area was really nicely made. The reception guy in the evening is also super helpful and fun.

Cons: The noise from the road can be quite loud

Pros: Feels like a treehouse! Very friendly + helpful hosts. Great location - Manuel Antonio / Quepos not walkable but right next to bus stop.

Cons: Road is very loud throughout the night. Just one shower/bathroom between 8-10 people.

Perfect jungle hostel

Pros: Right in the rainforest! If you’re lucky, you’ll see monkeys and toucans. Great pool, really helpful staff, well equipped kitchen. Shared bathroom was spacious and the shower worked well. They do a breakfast offer with the restaurant next door that is good value for Costa Rica. There is also a public bus stop close by for getting to the national park and back to Quepos that runs every 15 minutes and costs $0.70.

Cons: The private room is underneath the dorm rooms; we were lucky that they weren’t noisy but definitely could have been.

Pros: Great hostel! Super comfortable beds, great kitchen and vibe!

The female dorm is so spacious and clean that feels like staying in a private!

Pros: I stayed in the 8 bed dormitory and I loved it! I was able to choose my bed cause I was the first one and I chose one of the two non bunk beds. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. I went to bed with the sound of the night and it was to peaceful and calming. The bathroom was really big and overall really clean. The room was so comfy I spent most of my night chilling on my bed watching a movie. The view was stunning!! We could also see the ocean.

Cons: I felt like the staff was not so welcoming. The hostel is really big so maybe they have so many guest they cannot be attentive to each one of us but it made me feel a bit unwanted. I also did laundry and paid 4$ per kilogram and it didn’t smell good after. When I asked them for some information they couldn’t give me much, and the only tour I booked with them was with a guide that wasn’t so friendly. I strongly suggest to book a tour to the Manuel Antonio Park cause overall it was a great experience and thanks to the guide I was able to see animals with the telescope (maybe with another company online). Another little downside of this hostel was the position, cause it was in the middle of the street between the two cities Manuel Antonio e Quepos, and at first I didn’t quite get how to get around. But in the end I found a local bus that connects the two cities so it was fine!
