Costa Rica 🇨🇷

Great, fun jungle hotel, just don't trust their restaurant recommendations

Pros: The whole place was really nice and I had a great time with my large family. We enjoyed the pool, the impressive view, the surrounding jungle, the foosball table. It was fun.

Cons: There's no on site restaurant so you have to make do. I loved the hotel but don't trust their restaurant recommendations. They sent us to this pizza place that was a huge tourist trap - very expensive, average quality, absurdly small portions. The kind of place that not a single tico eats at. If you need to eat just take the short drive into Montezuma to eat one of the sodas there and you'll do much better.

Pros: Nice breakfast, really nice surroundings, beautiful pool, good breakfast, saw lots of monkeys and birds!

Cons: Rooms are really dark, not superclean (some ants and cockroaches), restaurant is closed due to low season

Incredible spot just minutes outside of Montezuma!

Pros: Paradise on earth! Irene, the manager was extremly helpful and did not hasitate to help us with bus tickets and offered free laundry as well! The Los Caballos is located a bit outside of the busy Montezuma. There is no traffic noise audible, and believe it or not, they have perfect road signs leading you to the place which is quite unusual in Costa Rica. After staying in Montezuma several times I would highly recommend this lovely place!

Pros: The views on top of the forest, beautiful gardens and woodwork, super friendly staff, beautiful room with small private terrace with hammock, fantastic design, great cocktails.

Cons: We missed some signs during the forest walk along the river, so we really got lost ! The food in the restaurant was okay but not great.

Pros: We had a rental car, so the location was great ( it is a steep distance from town, so it's quite a walk otherwise). The staff were great, pool phenomenal, and breakfast was wonderful. The room we had over looking the forest and looking towards the ocean was beautiful. Room/bed are extremely comfortable. Coffee in room a plus. The hotel also has trails on the property you can walk around. Photos did not do the property justice, so it's always nice to have things over exceed your expectations.

Pros: The Stuff was super friendly and helpful. The location amazing in the jungle. There is a Bus going Downtown and it stops directly on the Mainstreet where the sideway to the Hotel is. My Room was clean and big. There is a Hamrock on your terrace which i really loved.

Cons: The TV turned once on by itself at 10pm. I turned it off and it happend again 5minutes later. Dont know what it was. The fridge was very loud and didnt really cool.

Pros: Hotel in the middle of the forest. Hollow monkeys around the hotel, and other animals. Small pool and pool area, but nice. Helpful staff.

Cons: A lot of construction on the hotel, which spoiled the quietness.

Pros: Amazing view, amazing terrace. Very into the nature of Costa Rica. My room had an amazing private balcony. Loved it. Very friendly staff.

Cons: Be aware you need a car to get there. Or you walk to the main street (around 5-10mins walk) and catch the bus to Montezuma / Cobáno.

Paradise in the jungle

Pros: Its really a paradise in the middle of the jungle. The host, Irene is super nice and welcoming. The pool in front of the restaurant is amazing and the breakfast included is perfect.

Cons: Need a 4x4 to get there but its 100% worth it
