Had an amazing time at amor di mare, the bad time was leaving montezuma

Pros: Breathtaking garden/ocean views Beautiful local art everywhere Plants plants plants Adorable cat hostess Amazing coffee and breakfast Fantastic location walking distance to everything but far enough to feel secluded Best place to watch the sunrise

A beautiful, special place to stay.

Pros: This is a beautiful place to stay with a huge and delicious breakfast. Make sure to book a room with a sea view. It’s a short walk across the beach to Montezuma town.

Pros: Location was great, amazing garden and staff were helpful. Garden leading onto the rocks and pools were beautiful, and it's a short walk to the main village.

Cons: We were on the ground floor and we had a few crabs in our room over the few nights we were there. Not a problem for us as I just relocated them outside, but others might not be too keen.

Pros: Amazing location: beautiful grounds right on the sea shore watching the sun go down over the ocean then enjoying a glass of wine looking at the stars and listening to the breaking waves. Great room, comfy bed, good shower, fantastic view! Also recommend Zuma Tours Bio-luminescence and Snorkeling afternoon trip.

Lovely peaceful spot with beautiful gardens onto the sea

Pros: Good solid breakfast and price wasn’t too bad really Lovely gardens and chairs/hammocks 10min walk into town was fine and lights on road at night for walk back Felt very safe Butterfly brewery 15 min walk up the hill opposite was really nice and a bit of a different experience Waterfall really good but very tough to get there no path just scrambling over rocks for 30 mins

Cons: Room was a bit small but maybe standard for area Nothing else really coffee bit ‘American’ i.e. weak by European standards but that’s the same everywhere it seems

Pros: The location is perfect, with views to the ocean and next to the waterfall. The place felt very homely and cosy and the room had a lot of privacy and was very comfortable. The staff were helpful and super nice.

Cons: It was all amazing

Pros: The location was fantastic, the views and the access to the beach was absolutely amazing

Cons: What was a bit disappointing is that there is no bar/restaurant in the hotel. It closes at 1pm. So if you want lunch/diner or a drink you need to go outside, which is not a problem perse.

Montezuma nights

Pros: The rustic nature of the property, just absorbed into the jungle. It was beautifully designed, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was amazing. The views from our room and the hotel garden were outstanding. Loved to hear the story of our the owners started the property in the 80s /90s with their love for Montezuma. Great experience walking up to the Montezuma waterfall, we left at 7 and had the waterfall to ourselves for swimming. Also the whole vibe of the laid back town of Montezuma itself.

Charming property with a feel of real Costa Rica

Pros: The room was charming. We had a patio with beautiful tropical plants and views of the beauty gardens and the seas . It was a short walk to the Main Street in Montezuma

Cons: As we were on the ground floor next to reception and the restaurant we were woken up at 5.30 by staff chatting and at breakfast guests chatting. If you want privacy request another room.
