Bahia Esmeralda Boutique Hotel & Villas

Pros: Our villa had everything we needed, lots of space, lovely showers, comfortable king sized beds, laundry and dishwasher. Fabulous!

Pros: Rosemary the manager and all her staff were so kind and helpful during our stay. The room was very clean. The gardens were well maintained and pool was also kept very clean. It was very peaceful except some traffic from the road. Everything was within walking distance, two beaches, supermarket, places to eat and a fresh fruit stand, so we didn't need a car. The only thing we had a bit of an issue with during our stay in Potrero (not the hotel) was that there were no sidewalks on the streets anywhere in Potrero so you have to watch your step and for incoming traffic.

Love this calm, friendly place

Pros: Friendly helpful staff. The pool, although small, was very refreshing Andrew nicely set the garden area with bits of shade. The flat surfaced beach towels were lovely. They dried quickly and didn't collect sand. The hotel is not directly on the beach but the beach is only a 5 minute walk. Nearby, close walking distance are numerous eating options, several grocery stores and a lovely bakery (hidden in a compound complex but easily accessed). We enjoyed our breakfasts at the hotel. At dinner we had a tasty pizza one night. One night I had the Mahi Mahi with garlic sauce and mashed potatoes. Yum! It's a small, friendly place, where the guests talk to each other, not full of hustle and bustle like some larger places.

Cons: The internet was a bit sketchy. The road is a bit noisy but quiets mid evening.

A very nice property for a relaxing & quiet stay in Costa Rica

Pros: Enjoyed our stay at this small 'resort': a comfortable room, excellent WiFi for us, shady patio/garden & pool view, excellent breakfasts & woodfired pizza (thank-you to the fantastic cooks & our server Nicole!), convenience of the onsite restaurant & happy hour drinks, and the grocery store right across the street.

Cons: a few things requiring extra maintenance (lounging chair by the pool), there were no poolside patio umbrellas, which would have been nice; a small fridge in all the rooms would be convenient, although the accesibility of the ice machine & water was appreciated; location is a little isolated without a car, it was a long (hot) walk to a few more restaurants & coffee shops

Pros: The staff were really helpful and the Property was well kept and peaceful

Beautiful surroundings and great location with all the necessities for a beach holiday

Pros: The hotel grounds are beautiful and within walking distance of two beaches and a couple of sodas, making the location excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room with a bunk bed: whilst modest, it was well sized and served our purpose very well. The pool area was nice and the Wifi was excellent across the whole hotel area. The breakfast options were also good. We would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to get a bit of local exposure, whilst being able to drive to Playa Flamingo or enjoy nearby activities.

Cons: The road near the hotel can be noisy at rush hour. Additionally, the room did not have the best noise proof as some of the window panes were plastic shutters and let the outside noise (voices from other houses, the street and the early morning wildlife) through. It would also be great to have a place for drying swim wear.

Pros: Comfortable units, not too many of them. Grounds were very well kept and pretty.

Cons: Could hear the people in the next unit to us talking. Walls could use some color or artwork.

Great value for the money.

Pros: The breakfast was very good. Staff attention was nice. Safe parking located right in front of our room. And the room was cleaned daily.

Cons: The internet connection wasn't good. The TV was very small and volume very low. Our room was located right next to a main road and it was noisy during the night.

Excellent location with very friendly staff.

Pros: Excellent location in a quiet area. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very clean and secured. Short walk to a beautiful beach.

Overall we enjoyed our stay there and will recommend to others.

Pros: After exploring that area of CR we think we got the perfect location.

Cons: Helpful if Kitchenette's have basics such as salt and pepper, teas, or even sharp knife for cutting fruit.
