A peaceful retreat with awe-inspiring views at a great value!

Pros: This exquisite home is has been lovingly cared-for; the interior is comfortably furnished, with a well-stocked kitchen, window walls for amazing views from terrace and living room, and a beautiful walk-in shower with live plants. The owner Vera was very responsive and helpful, even booking a massage for me with a great masseuse named Mila. Vera’s assistant Giraly prepared delicious fresh breakfast each morning; she and her husband were very helpful and friendly, making me feel at home. I highly recommend Casa Sofia for a peaceful retreat in the mountains.

Cons: What's not to like?

Pros: The most beautiful accommodation we had in Costa Rica. Amazing views, spacious house, generously furnished. Coffee and tea available. Outside grill, washing machine and dryer available. The surroundings are beautiful. It's not humid here like by the sea, the weather is pleasant, it doesn't rain, even though it's the rainy season now .

A beautiful mountain home with amazing hosts

Pros: Vera and Merari were the perfect hosts and I can’t thank them enough for their help. We arrived with a broken car and in quite a panic, but they were so incredibly helpful in helping us to get it sorted. Vera even arranged a massage for me which was 10/10 and helped to wash away the stressful day! The property itself was stunning, it is an amazing place to enjoy the mountains, and we loved sitting on the sofa under a blanket and watching the birds. There is everything you could need for your stay, and we especially loved the garden style shower. I recommend the traditional breakfast, absolutely delicious and generously portioned, and delivered with a smile 😀

Cons: The location is a little remote to go out in the evening unless you drive, but it’s close enough to be able to drive to Orosi where we had some lovely early dinners and got back before dark. It wasn’t an issue for us as we were aware, but worth knowing when you’re planning your trip.

A pleasant change from staying in hotels during our trip around Costa Rica

Pros: The peace and quiet and the view were wonderful and the house was extremely comfortable with everything we needed provided

Pros: Fantastic view, good facilities, quiet and a good place to spot birds and frogs. Great possibility of massage.

A wonderful property, with easy access to lots of interesting places. It was hard to leave.

Pros: Fabulous views, great garden and outside access, and lovely, very comfortable and well equipped home. We would have liked to stay several days.

Cons: Nothing to dislike, but note that it is a bit of a drive (10+ minutes) on minor country roads to any restaurant, so self-catering the evening meal in the well equipped kitchen is optimal.

Un lugar para relajarse en el valle de Orosi

Pros: Alojamiento cómodo y grande con todo lo necesario, personal amable

Cons: Nos fue difícil llegar, el mapa de Waze lo envía a una finca al lado, probablemente esto fue influenciado porque llegamos de noche y costaba ver el camino, para próximos huéspedes podrían enviar una foto de Google maps (satélite) de la ruta al menos en la parte de ingreso y foto del portón que si está claramente rotulado. Llamamos y escribimos al celular de Merami/Jesús brindado y nunca obtuvimos respuesta (sin embargo Manuel y Doña Vera si contestaron)

Pros: Heel fijn en ruim huis, met een perfecte gastvrouw die een heerlijk ontbijt kan voorzien!! Weinig te doen in de omgeving, maar wij waren blij met de rustdag in onze reis.
