FINCA La PAZ - Sarapiqui

Pros: We loved our stay here! The host was incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the place feels like paradise for wildlife lovers. We were lucky enough to see three adult sloths and even a baby sloth — an unforgettable experience!

I was sad to leave!

Pros: The finca was great! I didn’t need to go out birding because there we so many birds on the property! Also a lot of monkeys, lizards, turtles, and a sloth! And Paul was a fantastic host 😊

Very friendly host, gave us great suggestions of activities, and organises kayak tours.

Pros: Amazing view of nature from the terrace (we saw sloths, monkeys, birds.) Bedrooms are very spacious, beds are very comfortable, kitchen is well equipped.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful host/owner .... always willing to help and give suggestions for excursions, dinner, etc. Wonderful garden, where you can spot monkeys, otters, birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, ...

The most valuable stay of our travel

Pros: Without any doubt, it was our best time in CR. At Finca La Paz we really felt in close contact with nature and with the local lifestyle. Paul, the host, was supporting us way before our arrival, helping us organizing authentic experiences (CR is now full of super turistic activities which really lack authenticity). We saw the first tucanoes of our trip, a lontra, some monkeys and other animals. We had the priviledge to visit the finca of neighboring farmers. Getting to know them and preparing a meal with the fresh products of their land was a precious experience that we'll never forget. We also joined a safari boat trough the river Puerto Viejo, were we spotted a lot of birds and iguanas, and also green lizards, fishes and monkeys. Absolutely recommended.

Pros: The facilities are incredible, you can see exotic birds, basilisks, monkeys, frogs and a wide variety of flora and an incredible river. The host is very kind, he helped us a lot, he is very friendly.

Incredible wildlife and warm hosting

Pros: Paul is a wonderful warm host who has created a homely environment amongst incredible wildlife - unbelievable birds visiting and resident howler and spider monkeys. Private location but with easy connection to local restuarants and experiences. Paul went out of his way to organize an amazing kayaking trip directly from the property along towards Puerto Viejo, with sloths, iguanas and lots of birds on route. He also helped with casual fishing at the property, suggested interesting local river spots for a swim and facilitated good value visits to some local wildlife like Frogs Heaven .

Pros: L’emplacement est superbe, au milieu de la nature avec la rivière, les singes, les oiseaux… Paul est vraiment très gentil et serviable et fait tout ce qu’il peut pour nous rendre le séjour agréable. Il nous a aidé dans l’organisation de nos activités.
