Caladium House

Great stay for first day in Costa Rica.

Pros: It was a great option for us to stay for a night after arrival to Costa Rica before heading further to Uvita the next morning. Everything else, including the hosts were amazing too. Gracias!

Lecker Frühstück, freundliche Gastgeber!

Pros: Ein kleines, schlichtes aber sehr sauberes Zimmer was das nötigste bereit hält. Dafür umso mehr ein großes Lob für die sehr angenehme und tolle Kommunikation vorweg und die herzliche Fürsorge vor Ort. Wir haben uns für die eine Nacht sehr wohl gefühlt 🙌🏻

A birders paradise with a beautiful view and a great breakfast!

Pros: Caladium house should be a destination. We booked this B&B on our way to the airport and did not know the gem it was. What makes this place so unique is that it is a birders paradise. My husband saw many new varieties including a painted bunting, a rare bird.The host’s garden is also impressive. There are plants, trees and bushes everywhere. The name Caladium comes from the 113 varieties of Caladium she grows. We sat out on the patio overlooking the hills. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit from the garden, eggs, toast and yoghurt. Host did not speak English but used Google Translate. Room was small but super clean.

Cons: When you arrive, you are on a steep road and therefore the driveway is hard to see. It might be good to have a better sign at the road.

Excellent rapport qualité, prix, très belle expérience humaine

Pros: Vue imprenable depuis la terrasse de la maison La propriétaire est très attentive, généreuse en conseils, accueil chaleureux, et prête à rendre plein de services : elle m’a fait une petite lessive, elle m’a fait visiter la petite ville de Atenas, et elle m’a appelé un taxi à chaque fois que j’ai eu besoin de me déplacer. Petit déjeuner généreux complet avec fruits et œuf et galette fait maison pris sur la terrasse en observant les oiseaux !

Cons: Le taxi Uber a eu du mal à trouver… Il faut un taxi pour aller au centre-ville, la maison est un peu éloignée et isolée.

Wonderful host, view, breakfast

Pros: The owner was exceptionally kind, and the breakfast she made for my son and me was absolutely wonderful! We sat out on the patio overlooking the beautiful garden and mountains beyond. Friendly cat and dog kept us company as well.

Cons: The room I booked would have been sufficient size for me, but then my 18-year-old son decided he wanted to tag along too. It was a little small for the both of us, but that was my fault for not booking two rooms.

Sauber, sehr freundlich und persönlich.

Pros: Wir haben die erste Nacht in Costa Roca bei Dunia im Haus verbracht. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und mit eigenem Badezimmer ausgestattet. Es gibt einen Gemeinschaftsraum mit Küche und Sitz lglichkeizen und eine Veranda mit einem sehr schönen Blick über eine Hügellandschaft. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Am Morgen war Dunia so nett und hat uns einen Kaffee gemacht. Wir saßen über eine Stunde zusammen und haben wertvolle Tipps für unsere Reise bekommen. Zum Abschluss hat Dunia uns noch selbstgemachtes Bananenbrit mitgegeben, was überaus nett war. Wir könne die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Limpieza, servicio y experiencia con Costarricenses

Pros: Agradezco mucho la atención de Dunia. Ella está muy pendiente de los huéspedes para garantizarles que pasen una buena estadía mientras están en su casa. Es un buen alojamiento para vivir la experiencia de quedarse con una familia costarricense.
