Comfortable stayover near the airport
Pros: Friendly reception, nice place and close to the airport. Pro-tip: use Uber in Costa Rica
Cons: Lot’s of noise coming from the street. Even with earplugs I woke up occasionally.

Convenient stay close to the airport – ideal for a short stopover
Pros: I stayed at this accommodation after a long flight to San José, just to rest before continuing my trip the next day. The location is very convenient, especially for travelers arriving late or leaving early. Even with heavy traffic, it only took about 15–20 minutes by Uber to reach the house from the airport. The room is located inside a larger house with a shared bathroom and kitchen, and the owners also live there. For my purposes, it was absolutely sufficient. The room and bed were clean, the bathrooms were clean as well, and the kitchen was equipped with a fridge and coffee machine, which made the short stay more comfortable and practical.
Cons: The room I stayed in was on the side facing the road. Although the house itself is set slightly back from the main street, my room was still close enough to hear traffic clearly in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, I would definitely recommend bringing earplugs. Overall, everything else was perfectly fine for a short stopover, and it served its purpose well.

Such a welcoming place to stay
Pros: I had a wonderful stay here! The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The whole house is beautifully kept and very well maintained. The host is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel at home rather than just a visitor. The Wi-Fi works great, and you can use the kitchen and living room. There’s also a lovely, friendly dog. The location is perfect close to the city center, with many restaurants and shops nearby. Alajuela feels safe and friendly, and I’d definitely come back!

Nice place to stay
Pros: I had a good stay here. Clear instructions were sent regarding how to enter and I got in without issue. There was a place to park behind a locked gate, which was nice with the rental car. The room and bathroom were both very clean. The bed was firm, which I prefer over a bed that is too soft. As to be expected in Costa Rica, the shower is cold, but honestly doesn't feel bad after a sticky/humid day outside. I chatted briefly with Mario, who was friendly. Location was close to the airport. There were also a number of restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: As is common in many places, there was a good bit of road noise from the busy street. Many loud motorcyles and trucks driving by.
