Bamboo River Lodge

Great location to spend few days in the middle of the nature

Pros: Adrián is a great host, you feel welcome as soon as you enter the property. He was happy to organize a meal in the evening (to agree in advance) and he took the time to show wildlife living in the forest around the lodge and explain the trees planted around the area. A great place also to spend rainy days, thanks also to the ping pong and the soccer table next to the restaurant area

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Generous and tasty breakfast. Nice rooms.

Cons: No real negatives. The chickens were crowing from very early but hey - Costa Rica is for everyone not just the tourists!

Adrians little paradise

Pros: Adrian is an excellent host who takes great care of his guests. We spent four nights with him, taking advantage of the offer to enjoy not only breakfast but also delicious dinners on site. From here, we went on various excursions around Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. Adrian took over a former bamboo plantation and created instead a diverse plant life. So he has many animals (besides birds, there are sloths, squirrels, possums and farm animals) in his little paradise, so we didn't need to go on any other animal tours. Adrian likes to share his knowledge on wild live. The bungalows are quite new and contrary to some reviews we had warm water. The accomodation and the meals are definitely affordable. A stop at Adrian's is always worthwhile, not only at a stopover while passing through.

Pros: The host! The bar has been set si high for Costa Rican hospitality! Our family was so spoiled while here, we were sad to leave. We saw macaws, howler monkeys, toucans and clothes other types of birds, just like that, roaming the property. We also loved the unlimited number of fresh coconut (pipas) We ate at the property three times and we enjoyed the food very much at well. The pool was a highlight with the kids and the adults:) All in all an excellent stay for our family

Pros: The grounds are lovely, you can bird watch directly from the pool. You can tell the hosts love their surroundings.

Cons: It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open the day we were there.

Should have stayed longer

Pros: Great and enthusiastic owner, beautiful location, very clean and comfortable room surrounded by nature

Very familiar accommodation with the best host

Pros: The host is absolutely outstanding. So friendly, tries to support every needs so it feels quite familiar. The comfortable/clean/spatious apartments are on the huge property of the host, where we also saw monkeys directly at our arrival. The location is perfect when traveling from west to east Costa Rica and for day visits to the Braulio Carrillo. The dinner at the accommodation is also delicious!

Cons: The location feels at first sight a bit in the nowhere. But actually it’s great for day trips and stops when driving from east to west

Pros: The host is amazing he has everything super curated!

Oase of rest in the middle of the nature

Pros: Beautiful location situated between Tortuguera and la Fortuna. The owners were so friendly and they made a great breakfast and in the evening dinner for us. Great place to relax a couple of days. For the kids they have board games, table tennis, trampoline and animals walking around like goats , sheeps, chickens.

Cons: Everything was good!

Lovely

Pros: A beautiiful place. it was our second time there and both times we say Monkeys in the trees and beautiful birds. The lightning storm on our second stay was spectacular. Our hosts could not be better. Dinner and breakfast were both lovely.
