Villas Flakis

Amazing place

Pros: The room was equipped with everything you need. There were a tub with views, a full-size kitchen, cozy shower, beautiful bedroom, and laundry machine (with detergent). It was a real vacation house at a very nice price. As it locates at a less busy area, it’s more possible to see some wildlife. We actually got a Tucan visited in the afternoon. Away from the main streets, but restaurants and grocery stores are still in walkable distance.

Cons: I think the roof may be thin, or maybe it’s the wooden structure, which caused some noise at night.

Stunning views over the forest and Nicoya Peninsula

Pros: We stayed in Vela for three nights in December. The property is stunning. Very well equipped (washing machine and drier, basic pantry items), maintained and furnished. The view from the upstairs terrace over the tree canopies and towards the Nicoya Peninsula are stunning. It was amazing to wake up on Christmas Day to this view, and a rainbow over the tree canopies. The property is a few metres from Hotel Belmar and around a 10 minute walk into Santa Elena town. The villa was perfectly located for us, between the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, and the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve. It was also easy to walk to restaurants and shops in Santa Elena. Communication was excellent and it was easy to collect keys from the lock box.

Cons: I can't think of anything that could be different for this stay. It suited us perfectly.

Super séjour à Monteverde

Pros: Bel appartement décoré avec chambre et vue dégagée à l’étage , literie confortable, baignoire à jets super, endroit bien sécurisé et très calme. Arrivée facile en autonomie et communication fluide

Cons: Rien

Pros: The view of the pacific with a sunset! It’s a Quick drive to the middle of town. Full kitchen (with coffee), washer (with detergent), and cleanliness is worth it. Would definitely stay here again.

Cons: I didn’t mind but worth noting for light sleepers: The wood floors are squeaky and you can hear the neighbors through the common wall. The place could use some carpet or rugs to soften the sounds. Just wear earplugs.

Querido Monteverde en Villa Vela

Pros: La Villa es tal y como se mira en las fotografías, de construcción nueva con muy bonitos detalles en madera y decoración. Cocina equipada y hasta con cositas básicas como café, azúcar, te y aceite, detalles apreciables. La bañera de hidromasaje es un éxito, enriquecida con las vistadas por los amplios ventanales. Cama cómoda y confortable. Y la ubicación explendida, de total acesibilidad a los distintos lugares a visitar en el bello Monteverde.

Clean, comfortable, private and a good location.

Pros: A clean and modern duplex. It had all the necessities in the kitchen and a nice streaming TV in the upstairs bedroom. The bathroom is downstairs, it was not a problem for us. We enjoyed the small balcony with good views and privacy. It is perfect for two people. The owners are very responsive. We definitely recommend it..

Simply superb

Pros: Villas Flakis offers an outstanding experience especially at this price point. The quality of the finish throughout, and the attention to detail, is superb. We booked two nights here and wished we had booked longer. There is a parking space, and the entrance to Monteverde Cloud Park is only 10 mins drive away. There is a whirlpool bath next to the bedroom area with a great view over the forest. Coffee and other consumables are all provided. We would book again without hesitation!

Cons: Almost nothing. The motor or compressor in the fridge downstairs can be a little noisy when it kicks in at night, although we soon got used to this! Similarly, if there are noisy guests in the attached property next door then it is possible to hear them through the wall.

I absolutely love this place!

Pros: An amazing Condo in a great location. It has two dedicated parking spots for the two Condos in the building. The keys are in a lock box outside, so easy to get. The kitchen is well stocked with dishware, pots and pans, etc. There is a Washer/Dryer. The upstairs bedroom has a jacuzzi tub that you can watch the sunset all the way out on the ocean from. There is also a nice balcony with chairs. We liked the place so much we stayed an extra day!

Cons: The washer/dryer is very high-tech and difficult to understand how to operate. More detailed instructions would be very helpful.

Could not have asked for a better way to finish our last 24 hrs in Cost Rica.

Pros: Just a stunning little villa. The wood finishing just beautiful. The jacuzzi bathtub with a million dollar view out the side window just brilliant. It was very well appointed. The rain shower head was great. Felt secure and safe. Sunset from balcony. It was close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. I’d suggest driving in at 8 in the morning for a coffee and being entertained by the humming birds - brilliant OR enjoy it after your walk through the forest. Not a massive amount of parking there so parking at designated parking and taking shuttle bus in a good option.

Cons: It was all good.
