Great low budget stay near airport with private shuttle service.

Pros: Super nice family run hotel with restaurant and bar. Comfortable beds and super soft sheets. The food was delicious as well.

Cons: Bring earplugs and you’ll be fine.

Pros: Super comfortable place with beers and a delicious breakfast great for a stay next to the airport, it’s definitely close you can hear the planes pretty good, almost like that scene in Wayne’s world. Already booked my next stay, felt the vale for money was good

Perfect base to await connecting shuttles from San Jose

Pros: I chose La Casona Rio because of its close proximity to Denny’s restaurant where I had to get a very early shuttle bus at 5:20am after my flight got into San Jose airport. It’s a perfect location for that and I easily walked there with my suitcase in less than 2 minutes. The owners are very kind and helpful and assisted me with getting there from the airport even though my flight was delayed and it was late.

Pros: This hotel is perfect, especially if you’ve just arrived or need a quick overnight stay. It’s very close to the airport, and I was picked up for free right away by car. The room was large, spacious, very cozy, and comfortable. All this at a great price. Highly recommend!

Cons: A few important downsides to mention: \t•\tThe shower water was cold, which was quite uncomfortable, especially in the morning. \t•\tI also had an unpleasant experience with early checkout. When I had to leave for a tour, everything was locked, and I found myself trapped inside the property — no one was around, and no one answered my calls for quite some time. I called many times, and only after that did a woman come out and unlock the gate. If that had taken five minutes longer, I would have missed my tour. So be sure to make arrangements the night before if you need to leave early in the morning, to avoid a stressful situation.

Pros: La amabilidad de las personas que lo llevan, además llegamos super tarde por la noche y aún así no nos pusieron problemas para hacer el check in. La ubicación es perfecta si necesitas estar cerca del aeropuerto y el desayuno estaba buenísimo. No tiene ac pero con los ventiladores fue suficiente.
