Hotel Pacande B&B

Pros: Great location, very helpful staff, easy entry to the hotel, nice room.

Cons: The bathroom needs a thorough cleaning, especially the toilet.

Pros: Considering the price it was quite ok for one short night

Cons: The Gallo Pinto for breakfast was good, however, the amount was quite small and it was not possible to get some more.

Lovely and welcoming staff

Pros: The staff is really welcoming. They help you with everything and are great! I stayed in the room 1 and it was a bit noisy. Breakfast was included, it was ok. Good price and location. Highly recommend

Great place to stop over and relax after a long travel day

Pros: Very close to the airport. The staff were very responsive and supportive when discussing our late check in. They greeted us when it was after midnight which we really appreciated. Shower had fantastic pressure and was warm. Bedroom was basic but for the price very good!

Pros: Close to the airport, the breakfast was delicious and there is super friendly staff that would like to help with anything!

I would strongly recommend Hotel Pacande but it could do with some maintenance.

Pros: We had Room 1 (standard double with bathroom) which is a nice cool internal room with plenty of space and a window on to a light well which provides good ventilation. The bedding was clean and the room tidy. The family running the hotel are friendly and helpful and made us fell very welcome. We started and finished our holiday at Hotel Pacande which is perfect for access to the airport and not in the hustle & bustle of San Jose. Alajuela is a nice town with good restaurants and shops.

Cons: The ceiling fan only had an on/off switch rather than a controller, so it ran at full speed and was noisy. There was no hot water for the shower.

Pros: Small accommodation near airport, clean and the staff was very nice and helpful.

Cons: There is a little bit of noice from outside and also the room is really creaks. But nothing that can’t be handled.

You go here to sleep, but you will get so much more from the staff!

Pros: Simple and cozy hotel for a great price- but what really sets it apart from other places is the staff. Viktoria, John and Jani was an awesome host- helping restless, kindly with the near options, such as restaurants, car mechanics, and anything I was asking for. Here i experienced the local knowledge and hospitality that beats every place i ever been . Awesome work, keep it up guys, I am sure i will be back!

Cons: I could say small things - but I won't, the positive things were overwhelming on the human side. Genuine people, no mistakes were made here.

Great Deal

Pros: I liked how friendly reception was at 10pm and 2am, when I came back. I also liked the unique eating area.

Cons: Bed was uncomfortable; I could feel the springs, but I wasn't sore in the morning or anything.

Hostal in center of Alajuela

Pros: Center location and nice breakfast area. They also have storage for your luggage. Breakfast is ok

Cons: Staff is mobile phone addicted and not customer service. But depends on who is on duty. Had both experience. Extremely nice and helpful but also super bored... rest is fine. Worn out and aged hotel and a bit overpriced but within limits
