Ideal base for exploring Monteverde

Pros: Very cozy place with home vibe. The room was fully equipped and super comfortable, and the owner was incredibly kind. The view from the property was amazing—we even spotted an armadillo right on our porch! Great location within walking distance to the cloud forest and just a 15-minute walk from Monteverde village and other nearby reserves. Perfect for exploring the area on foot.

Cons: While it's close by to all the forest trails, your dining options are little limited - it's better to have a car to move around.

Pros: Location, space, stuff- a nice family runs this place and we like that very much.

Cons: We were cold in the evening, and I can see how a smaller heating unit can be useful. House temperature in the evening was between 16-18 degrees. The space had a air dryer unit and that was helpful.

Pros: The room is in the middle of a forest in a very relaxing location a few metres away from the entrance of the national park. It is a very relaxing place and unfortunately I didn't stay more than a day.

Cons: The shortage of hangers but it seems a classic in Costarica so forgivable : )

Wood house 300 m from Monteverde Park entry.

Pros: Large, full wooden interior. Beds are convenient. 300 m from Monteverde National Park entry. The garden is nice: cloud forestish with lots of flowers, butterfly. A coati was sleeping on the pourch. Owner is helpfull.

Cons: Kitchenware is rather limited and overused.

Pros: Esteban is a great host. The cabins are very spacious and super clean and the shower is great. The location is not in the busy part of town but more secluded and right next to the Monteverde cloud Forest. This has pros and cons (more traffic, less restaurants). But we had a great stay here and would choose Mariposa again!

Cons: Some cutlery in the room would have been nice, but no other notes!

Perfect

Pros: The host was so friendly and helpful! Really nice guy. The rooms were perfect, quite big and even a whole kitchen for us to use. I even saw a armadillo on the location! Perfect. I think the price quality was very good for this place. It’s a perfect place to stay. Also very close to the hummingbird cafe where we got lovely photos from the birds!

Pros: Beautiful and very quiet accommodation. We slept well in the beds, and everything was very clean! No breakfast available, but there are plenty of options in the nearby town.

Cons: Nothing! Everthing was Perfect!
