Ocho Artisan Bungalows

Pros: We had an amazing stay at Ocho Artisan Bungalows. The property is gorgeous and the bungalows are beautiful and private. The beach is just steps away and the pool is a quiet oasis with a wonderful view of the ocean. What really makes this boutique hotel exceptional, though, is the warm and friendly team at Ochos. Ilse is an exceptional concierge, who took great care to ensure our stay exceeded expectations. From arranging day trips and excursions Ilse and Sue went out of their way to assist with your stay. The friendly restaurant/bar staff greeted us with warm smiles and by name. Special shout out to Daniel, Kenya, Giovanni and Jimmy.

A great location comes with a price.

Pros: Garden, where the bungalows are, is beautiful. Bungalows are spacious and very comfortable. Access to the beach. Staff were great. Sunsets in front of the hotel’s beach are breathtaking.

Cons: Entrance to the hotel is very ugly. Our bungalow was a bit noisy because there is a street in the back and we could hear the cars passing by. Quite expensive.

Pros: My bungalow was beautiful. The pool area also beautiful. I left a week ago and have a longing to go back. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Cons: I personally love the style of the bungalows, the artisan quirky feel. The beautiful nature. And you are immersed right in the middle of it.

We had a lovely relaxing time.

Pros: We had one of the pool side bungalows and the location was perfect. The bungalow was very spacious and comfortable with lots of character. The gardens were beautifully maintained and the service provided by all the staff and particularly Ilse the concierge was excellent.

Cons: The water was hot but the shower pressure was terrible. We got used to it but if there was any way to improve the pressure that would definitely be a plus.

Loved it and woukd recommend.

Pros: Individually stylish, lovely pool plus right on the beach, very quiet with villas that are spaced out and isolated. Excellent service, so friendly.

Cons: Whilst food and drink was excellent it was pricey given the surcharges.

Pros: Our stay at Ocho Artisan in Tamarindo was absolutely wonderful! The beachfront location is unbeatable, with a beach club that is hands-down the best in Tamarindo, and a beautiful pool to relax in. Our bungalow was surrounded by lush nature, with plants and playful monkeys right outside — truly magical. A heartfelt thank you to Priscilla and Zula for always being attentive to our needs, and to the entire team for their constant smiles and warm hospitality. We can’t wait to come back!

Cons: Clearly, being surrounded by nature, there were inevitably some mosquitoes bothering us at night.

A spacious, sunny escape with great food, great service - almost pura vida perfection!

Pros: We had a fantastic stay! The villa was spacious and super comfy, with a big bathroom and a hot tub that was perfect for winding down. The bed was decent. The pool was a total highlight: clean, with cool water features, never too busy, and we always snagged a lounge chair (there aren’t tons, but enough to go around). Service was top-notch — the staff were all lovely, super friendly, and attentive. For a resort at this level, daily water delivery to the room would be a nice touch (even just in a glass jug!), but everything else was spot on. Breakfasts were great, and good restaurant food overall. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat: gorgeous beach, soft clean sand, fun waves for swimming, and great people-watching. Just a short stroll to Tamarindo town for restaurants, shops, and all kinds of activities. Loved being in the heart of the action while still feeling tucked away in a relaxing space!

Cons: We had a lovely stay at the resort overall - the property is well-maintained, the service was great, and the location is absolutely beautiful. One thing to note is that the main restaurant is situated on a public beachfront. From Thursday to Saturday, there's a DJ from Ocho playing high-volume electronic music from around noon to 9pm. It's a lively scene with lots of people eating, drinking, and dancing — definitely a fun vibe if you're traveling with friends or looking for a party atmosphere. However, if you're a couple seeking a more tranquil, serene getaway, the beach area can feel quite busy and noisy, especially with other loud music sources nearby. It's worth considering what kind of holiday experience you're after — this might be perfect for some, but a bit too noisy for others.

A beautiful ending to our trip!!

Pros: The property was very Zen like with all the foliage surrounding the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pricilla made our stay even more special with her attentiveness. The wait staff equally as impressive!! Paulo stands out to us, so warm.

Great place to stay in Tamarindo.

Pros: Ocho Bungalows are perfectly located right at the beach, but you feel like you are in the jungle. We had a fantastic time. The bungalows are wonderfully decorated, the staff was nice and helpful. The beach bar is great and the food was fantastic. Great place to stay in Tamarindo.
