Lovely stay in tortuguero

Pros: Very nice clean room with airconditioning, television and a good bed. Nice shower in the bathroom. Sweet lady who only speaks spanish welcomed us and with google translate we came a long way.

Cons: Nothing. Only keep in mind to bring cash to Tortuguero.

Pros: Very nice and very helpful host. Marina did everything to help us with transportation! She also gave us good advice for tours Very good beds Clean rooms/ bathroom

Pros: Good value for money. Great location next to the river and the sea. Someone greeted us from La Pavona and helped us with the boat/parking. Marina was really helpful.

Great nature!

Pros: Great location, nice yard between the river and the ocean. Animals are all around! I highly recommend the night walk and morning boat tour.

Best stay in lovely Tortuguero!

Pros: What a great place to stay. Loved it! It was a beautiful room and bathroom. The airconditioning was real great, I didn’t expect this in a place so far away in the middle of the jungle. Everything is so well arranged, from whenyou arrive until you leave. Loved the fact I stayed directly on the river. Fell in love with Tortuguero and its residents. Felt very relaxed and safe.

Cons: Breakfast was included, but the times you could get the breakfast were impossible, from 7-9 am and with the tours starting so early, you can’t have the breakfast. Also on the day I left, the owner was gone, so it would have been a good idea to make other arrangements or lower the price.

Pros: Marina was very helpful and friendly. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend Lakeview.

Cons: The only thing that I would improve would be the breakfast. I was expecting a full Costa Rican breakfast, but Marina did make us a bit of pinto.

spacious and lovely hostess marina

Pros: it was big, had air conditioning, a coffee machine and coffee to go with it, a small fridge. we were only two people but still somehow got the 4 bed room, which was very spacious for the two of us, as was the shower and bathroom. for breakfast you have to walk 5 minutes into the village, which was no problem for us. also once you book this room, they will write to you and send you a link to a website on which you can book parking in la pavona and a boat transport to tortuguero. everything is made very easy for the visitor. the transport also drops you off directly at the accomodation. marina, the hostess, is a lovely person, who can only speak spanish but will make you feel very welcome. she also arranged an early breakfast (06:15) for us on our last day so we could catch an early boat (06:40).

Excellent choice

Pros: Nice breakfast, proximity to the village, cheap tours and Alfonso is a.magnificent tourgude.

Pros: Excellent value for money and all staff were amazing, even letting us rent kayaks for free one day.

Cons: We really enjoyed our stay but maybe a few items in the room such as somewhere to hang clothes/ towels and a lamp.

Pros: The location is excellent : view on the lagoon, within a short walk to town center for shops and restaurants (5-10 minutes). The beach is literally across the street (2 minutes). The boat from la Paloma brought us to the front door of the accommodation. The property is clean and well maintained. The owner Marina is extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The kayaks available on location were a plus (note that if you want to kayak in the national park, you need a guided tour, but you can do nice trips on the lagoon with the hotel kayaks)
