Ok stay

Pros: Swimming pool area and hammock area were very nice. We were lucky to get a day with nice weather and managed to enjoy both. The room met the expectations as the photos were actually very close to what one can see in reality. The room is basic, but has some storage space, working AC. There is a soap in the bathroom, but no shampoo or shower gel. Hot water was hot :), no issues with that. Residential iguanas also bring additional charm to the place. The place is connected with the tour agency Roots, where we ordered transfers and tours and that worked well for us.

Cons: Wi-fi worked with interruptions in the room, a bit better in the common area. The bed was leaning to one side.

A solid 8/10. A clean and simple place with nice pool and very kind staff. Would stay again.

Pros: A tiny bit sceptic given previous comments for example regarding the pool, I must say that we were overall fully happy! Expecting a rather simple, yet clean room - expectations fulfilled. The room very ok regarding cleanliness, beds, air conditioning. The pool in very good state. All staff very kind. The hang-out area on the upper floor very nice giving a bit of hostel feeling... All in all a 'very good' = 8/10 experience.

Cons: We were happy! - only point to state is that noise protection is limited and plans to hang out in the evening or to get up in the morning may differ from guest to guest.

Pretty and comfy hotel, lovely garden and nice pool

Pros: Excellent location close to the main road but enough hidden away not to be too noisy. The beach is also close. Very pretty setting, lovely garden and nice pool to relax in. We got to pre order our breakfast and it was freshly prepared by the staff, who are very friendly. The rooms are basic but comfy.

Overall it was a very comfortable stay, close to the main dock where most of the activities/tours leave from.

Pros: It was well located and had a little pool (even though we couldn’t use it because it rained so much). Also nice was the common area with hammocks and some board games.

Cons: We stayed 2 nights but they only changed the towels and didn’t make the bed, which was a bit odd.

Pros: Lovely little hotel. Great value for money, helpful staff, excellent 2 for 1 cocktails 😁 We all enjoyed sharing the pool area with the iguanas and watching them lounge about

Pros: Ace place, a little bedraggled in places, but for all that, it's a great experience 👍🏼

Cons: As previous, the breakfast tables were not cleaned, everything on the outside could do with a good scrub, but it was fine for the money

Pros: We had a large room overlooking the roof above the dining room which was covered with vegetation - great for seeing iguanas and the occasional humming bird. Simple but very clean. Good breakfasts and very helpful staff.

Pros: Very friendly, great ambiance. Very sociable with staff and other guests. Excellent tours arranged by hotel at very reasonable prices. Our host David could not have been more helpful. Excellent breakfast which was not expected as not included in the booking. Fantastic gin and tonic! Great resident iguanas gave much entertainment. Lovely hammock chill out area to relax in. Would highly recommend a stay here.

A great room and the hotels advice regarding trips made our stay

Pros: The light room had big widows that overlooked a nice pool. The lady on reception was very helpful with arranging some tours which were not expensive and great. And the AC worked.

Cons: Facilities for eating and coffee etc were limited, but there were plenty of places nearby. Most restaurants had card machines but this hotel required payment in cash.

Fabulous stay in the heart of Tortuguero

Pros: Location was quiet and near the main area to catch the boats and the beach, staff were friendly and helpful, room was comfortable with air con.

Cons: Nowhere to hang a rain coat or clothes, and no bin in the room to put rubbish in.
