Hotel Tortuguero Beachfront

Great stay

Pros: The garden is amazing, with animals and flowers, the location is perfect, close to everything but not directly on the main street. The spa and laundry service are very good for rainy days. The room was clean and comfortable. Good wi fi.

Cons: A bit overpriced, but Costa Rica is an expensive country

Pros: Nice little hotel with direct access to the beach. The pool was small yet clean. As we were visiting in low season we had it badically for ourselves. In high-season it might get crowdy.

Cons: No wifi in the room. You had to go to the reception area

Had a wonderful stay.

Pros: Location of the hotel was perfect. Beach on one side and mail street close by. Room was good and awesome breakfast. The pool was good too. All and all we had a wonderful time.

Loved our stay!

Pros: Really pleased with our stay. The room was quite small but we weren't in it anyway. The aircon was very good and definitely needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and you could walk straight out onto the beach. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and comfy. Booked some tours with a company the hotel recommended and they were brilliant.

Excellent hotel for families.

Pros: Lovely beachfront property and easy access to the main shops and restaurants. Rooms were very clean with air conditioning. Staff very polite and helpful. Good WiFi throughout.

Cons: There was no hot water for a shower and the instant water heater wasn’t effective at all so ended up having cold showers.

Pros: The location is perfect, its very clean as well, and the staff is welcoming and helpful.

Pros: Set right on the beach the views were fabulous. Lots of birds in the gardens, even a toucan. Free coffee and water available all day in reception. The location was very central for the shops and tours. The staff were delightful.

Great place to stay

Pros: Amazing location. Was very impressed how organised the hotel was. There was someone expecting us when we parked the car to catch the river boat and again someone was waiting for us when we arrived to guide us to the hotel. The hotel was lovely, excellent outdoor reception area which was lovely to sit in and relax and watch the wildlife. The room was small but comfortable. Make sure you do the river canals tour at 6am and book through the hotel. Was so well organised and informative. Walking along the beach and on the walking trails of the National Park was also a highlight of the stay. Beautiful area to visit.

Budget luxury. Cute, comfortable and coupley place ON the beach IN the village!

Pros: Combining laid-backless with light jungle luxury for a great price this place is right “central” in the Tortuguero village (something that we didn’t realise how important it is when booking). The pool is delightful, and the beach-stretch also. Combining a morning maritime tour with a self-administered walk in the National park in the afternoon is splendid, and the place can recommend the best tours, set you up with massage in the in-house mini-spa or just be generally lovely. Air-con worked well.

Cons: Our neighbours were having loud fights and we heard them a bit though the walls, but only when the AC was off. It was hard to get an aggressive enough water pressure in the shower to make all the sand from beach-sandy feet disappear quickly.
