Fantastic place to stay
Pros: Martin was a great host. The room was comfortable & had so many seating areas to chill outside! Hot tub was a great addition. We loved the setting, views from the room were brilliant, seeing the toucans & sloths from our bed was a highlight!
Cons: It is slightly outside of La Fortuna, although that didn’t bother us as we had a hire car and knew what we were expecting.

Good location, great view from the terrace, lovely garden, bedroom is smaller than we thought
Pros: We had a lovely terrace and the garden was beautiful. The showerhead clean towels, shampoo and air conditioner. The open kitchen on the ground floor had a coffee maker and a cooker. There was a pot and a pan and a big fridge. There are a few restaurants and supermarket within 10 minutes drive. The room had two beds and a strong a/c. It was great to come and recuperate after sightseeing. The host was lovely. There was parking on the site and a warm Jacuzzi.
Cons: It is a village location, dogs in the evening were rather eloquent. While the terrace and a balcony offers good space, the bedroom itself was smallish and very cluttered with a lot of old furniture. There was dirt on the floor behind the cabinets and old paper in the drawers. There was no hair dryer (although the horses offered me her electric hair brush). Water in the hot bath was lukewarm. There’s another cottage on site and its kitchen was in our “front garden”, luckily, it was empty.

Lovely accommodation with great hosts
Pros: -Extremely friendly hosts. They speak zero English but I just downloaded GoogleTranslate so we were able to communicate. -Nice surroundings. Gets very dark after sunset because it is in the outskirts with hardly any street lamps. -Very quiet apart from some howling monkeys and roasters. -We liked the outdoor kitchen a lot. Great place to have your breakfast. -A RENTAL CAR IS A MUST. The location is located in the outskirts of Chachagua -Free parking inside of the gate (safe parking) - Takes about 20min to walk to the nearest supermarket and restaurants. We recommend the Soda (small family owned restaurant) named El Asador next to the main junction. -Free use of the jacuzzi -About 25 min drive to La Fortuna
Cons: -We missed a toaster. Had to use the frying pan to fry the bread (very minor issue though). - They only accept CASH payment, so bring enough cash. This was not so clearly stated (it was probably stated but not highlited, so we missed that). We booked through Booking.com - The last 600m of the road is in very poor condition. A 4x4 is not needed, but you have to drive very slowly. - It rained heavily every night (stayed for 4 nights). But hey, you can't blame anyone for that🙂 Overall a very lovely place with great hosts. Strongly recommend this place if you want a peaceful and idyllic stay.

It was a delightful stay and Gonzalo made us feel very welcome.
Pros: Gonzalo’s property is beautiful and he is an excellent host. The outside kitchens are. Well stocked, very clean and in good working order. It was nice to relax in the jacuzzi at the end of the day.
Cons: The last part of the road leading to the property ideally requires a car with high clearance of the road.

Amazing stay!
Pros: Amazing location. Beautiful garden and a warm welcome. Stayed there with my parents so we had both units, which I can highly recommend me. The host doesn't speak English, but with Google Translate it worked out fine and he gave us a lot of recommendations. The beds were very comfortable and the views were amazing. The Jacuzzi looks brand new and the outside kitchen is fabulous. There is a gate that opens and closes with a clicker, so your car is very safe.
