Friendly host and simple rooms
Pros: The location was beautiful with all the plants around. Hearing the birds during the day and frogs in the evening was very special. The room itself was simple but had everything. The free night tour was very good. We saw lots of different frogs and the guide really knew where to look.
Cons: The bed was short for a tall person (1m90). It seemed 1m80. The shower was cold, but after notifying them they fixed it quickly (breaker was down). Going to the shared bathroom outside in the rain was not very handy as the roof was not that big.

A great time in a great place!
Pros: The grounds were amazing - lots of frogs and birds. The staff were very friendly and contacted me to let me know I had left my 500pf lens on a chair where we ate breakfast...we turned round after an hour and got it!|. The breakfast and my nachos from the night before were lovely. The portions are very large!!
Cons: Only that the toilet was separate. I hadn't remembered! Being 65 I often need to go in the night!

Great hide away next to town to spot even more wildlife
Pros: Nature right on your doorstep, in the forests, sit in a hamock on the porch and spot tucans and humming birds. Free frog walk was great we saw so much, red eye tree frogs, bull frog, eels, snake and much more. Food was best value for money we found.
Cons: facilities a little more basic than we expexted but all working and serviceable

Pros: Nice quiet place with a small pond and lots of animals. Everyday at 7pm a short frog spotting night tour is given for free. Original chalets with large semi-outdoor bathroom. Real \
Cons: Bedroom relatively small. With our backpacks we had sufficient space, but when using large suitcases, you might find it small.

Pros: - great staff - the frogs tour! we did it 3 times in 2 days, haha. Each time it was fun and very interesting - great food - small bungalow in the middle of a tropical garden - few minutes drive to la fortuna (but outside la fortuna, so companies probably won't pick you up). - very quiet and relaxing.
Cons: - the ceiling is not perfectly closed so some insects can enter inside but we didn't see any during our 2 days stay. not even mosquitoes. - the pillows are too big

we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Pros: Great location, amazing hosts, great food - highly recommend to get the typical breakfast and dinner there. It is delicious homemade meal. The nature around the area is also awesome and the night frog tour was the best.

Nature immersion with a local touch
Pros: We absolutely loved Eduardo’s hospitality—he was warm, welcoming, and full of great recommendations for places to visit and things to do in the area. The property itself is stunning, especially if you enjoy being immersed in nature and spotting wildlife while you relax. It’s a fantastic value for the price, and our stay felt incredibly homey and comfortable. The breakfast was a highlight—delicious, locally sourced, and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway with a personal touch!
Cons: While our overall stay was lovely, we did notice a drop in the level of service during our second breakfast. Unlike the warm and attentive experience we had the first morning, the second felt a bit rushed and impersonal. It gave the impression that serving us was more of a chore, and we felt like we were intruding on a private family moment—even though breakfast was part of what we paid for.
