Pros: Lovely rural set of cabins in the middle of nature up the mountain Rustic look and feel Friendly couple who were so accommodating and genuinely looking to please guests Cosy log burner in a simple and pleasant dining area and a home-cooked veggie meal with bottle of nice red wine Local coffee is excellent Comfy bed Room heater Thoughtful touches, such as umbrellas and motion-sensitive lights for the tricky paths Nice fresh cooked simple breakfast Great wifi in all areas

Cons: The drive in the dark and torrential rain from San Jose (not the fault of the Lodge :) ... I recommend to arrive in the hours of daylight

Excellent experience for our 1-night stay in between our main holiday destinations

Pros: Very attractive location with comfortable accommodation and beautiful landscaped grounds. We loved watching birds from the reception terrace. The service was exception and very good value.

Cons: A little difficult to find the turning off the main road as there were 2 turnings close together. It would be very useful to have a sign for ‘Curuba Lodge’ at the turning.

Pros: The manager was amazing. I booked last minute due to not feeling well on a long drive. He saw me struggling at my car and brought me water, changed my room to one that was closer so I didn’t have to walk, and offered dinner. So incredibly kind and I was feeling better in just a few hours. It was like happening upon a tiny peice of paradise. The gardens were so beautiful with flowers, hummingbirds, and free flowing water. I look forward to goin back and enjoying coffee in the cute cafe.

A Hidden Gem

Pros: A hidden gem, the hospitality of Esterban was wonderful to make our stay very comfortable indeed. Spacious rooms, comfortable bed surrounded by nature, and great food Highly recommend and we got to see the Resplendent Quezal on an early morning tour organised by Esteban

Cute cabins nestled into mountains. Nice grounds, very good birds.

Pros: Hosts incredibly kind, flexible, understanding and gracious. Wonderful welcome to this country.

Nice stay with very friendly and welcoming hosts

Pros: Very friendly and welcoming host family, that provided us with so good recommendations in the area. In their Cafeteria they also offered us drinks and snacks in the afternoon. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and the area is very quiet. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The heaters in the private rooms and ovens in the communal areas made it feel cozy and warm Event though it can be quite chilly and damp up in the mountains. The garden is like a little park and has some nice sitting areas. Also there is an awesome sunset spot nearby and some walks.

Pros: Memorable experience, this place is a hidden gem, and the staff was extraordinary.

Pros: We loved to stay at Curuba lodge on our way from the carribean coast to the pacific coast. the cabinas are very comfortable. we enjoyed the heater in the cabin because it get's really cold during the night! the breakfast and the dinner were delicious and the staff so friendly. we hope to come back again and to stay for more than one night!

Esteven and Nordem are so lovely and really look after you, the breakfast and evening meals are delicious 🤤
