Hotel Mirador de Quetzales

Good option for bosque nuboso stay

Pros: It was a very pleasant stay. We loved the view from the hut (large clean windows) and the mountainous feeling. Enough blankets provided to manage the cold. Nice restaurant. Saw quetzales on the guided walk.

Cons: Price for level of (un)luxury not really on par, but probably same in the area. What you see is what you get.

Pros: Really great staff, beautiful trail system and stunning location. We didn't have time to sample the food due to our busy schedule, but less vegan options there than at other lodges we stayed at.

Fantastic experience

Pros: 1- Fantastic location with amazing surrounding nature. 2- Great tasty breakfast and meals with many options to choose from, even for vegetarians/vegans. 3- Very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff. 4- Nice to have a heater in the room. 5- Incredible private trails! 6- Great guide for the Quetzal tour. 7- Fantastic reception/dining area with plenty of space and fantastic views. 8- Two nice locations with well-kept hummingbird feeders. Plenty of photo opportunities. 9- The property area (all facilities and services) was bigger than we thought. 10- Quiet and relaxing location. 11- Fantastic view from the room.

Cons: 1- There is hot water which is great but it didn’t stay warm for more than a few minutes in a row. 2- Temperature insulation from the windows is limited - gather some blankets and turn up the heater as needed

Pros: A lovely place to stay in the cloud forest with great views over the hill tops. The staff & owner here went above and beyond to make our stay here fantastic. The bird watching was great too and again the guides and owner are very knowledgeable about them. Also the food is really good. We would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be back.

Pros: - dinner and breakfast were great - unique location, 2700 m above sea level, - hummingbirds at your doorstep and the famous quetzal in the area - wooden houses with lots of warm blankets and an electric heater

Pros: This hotel is just perfect in every way, location, staff, food is amazing it just goes on and on. Everyone needs to stay here! Just make sure you stay for longer the we need. We just stopped for one night. Mistake! We should have stayed longer.

Cons: The fact that we didn’t book for longer than one night.

Pros: Tolle Lage, gutes Restaurant, genügend Decken im Zimmer, wird nachts recht kalt. Kleiner Heizlüfter vorhanden.

Cons: Nur ein begehbarer Wanderweg, alle anderen kostenpflichtig.

Pros: Maravilloso lugar. El tour de avistamiento de quetzales es algo excepcional. La comida excelente. Nos quedamos con una excelente impresión de la calidad humana de su personal. Muchas gracias.

Fijn

Pros: De locatie was top. Het uitzicht vanaf de kamer is prachtig. Veel vogels om het hotel heen en op puur geluk (en super vroeg) zijn we ook de quetzals tegengekomen. Er zijn veel trails om het hotel heen maar helaas is er maar 1 trail die je niet hoeft te betalen om op te lopen (waar we achteraf over hoorden dat je de minste kans hebt om de quatzal te zien). De andere trails zijn betaald onder begeleiding van een gids waar het tegenkomen van de quetzals blijkbaar hoger is... Verder: wees voorbereid op een wat koudere en nattere gedeelte van costa rica, gelukkig was er een klein kacheltje op de kamer waardoor het al snel lekker warm was. Dit was wel de enige plek waar we quetzals hebben gezien en het was het wel waard. Gewoon super vroeg (5:30) je nest uit en goed opletten

Cons: De douche werd de 1e dag niet warm... en vanaf de avond tot aan de 2e ochtend hadden we geen water op de kamer. Denk gewoon pech, want anderen hadden wel water. Toen we het sochtends hadden aangegeven hebben ze het meteen opgelost.
