The Chocolate Lodge

Waking up in the middle of a cocoa farm was very unique!

Pros: Beautiful and unique location. Everything you need, even coffee for the morning, a fridge and some board games. Very friendly host. Even saw some frogs, birds and a sloth on a tour around the farm. We had a beautiful stay.

Cons: Fridge a bit too cold, our food froze. Location in the middle of nature, so be aware that there are bugs & mosquitoes.

Pros: Very nice big room, lovely pool and river very close, on a very big finca on the countryside. Fantastic host, a wonderful stop in a tiny town on our way to the Caribbean . Absolutely recommended.

Pros: We arrived way late and we were greeted by the owner on a dark street. And there is when the awesomeness began. The place was a small studio on a dark cocoa plantation. We opened all the doors to (screens to keep out the bugs of course) and heard a lot of birds and animals. Sitting there in middle of \

Pros: Very helpful owners, even when we locked ourselves out of the house at 9pm they were very kind and travelled to open it with a spare key.

Pros: Oscar was super friendly!! Made our stay a perfect stop on the way to Tortuguero! The house we stayed in was built for private purpose and it is Costa Rican standard - still, ok as this way we had a kitchen to cook… What I really liked are the 2 person cabines they set up on the farm! Perfect little room, nice modern bathroom and great view! You can open up to sleep „in nature“ - lovely place!!!

Pros: Oscar is a really nice host! Can recommend to book his chocolate tour also, was really interesting. Food in his restaurant tastes amazing. Typical Costa Rican breakfast was also very good!

Pros: Namestitev se nahaja v nasadu kakavovca in drugih rastlin, v okolici se pasejo krave. Gostitelji nadvse prijazni. Bila sva poucena o pridelavi in predelavi kakavovca v cokolado, s cimer se druzina ukvarja. V nasadu sva videla lenivca, tukana, kolibri, detla in druge vrste ptic. Bilo je nadvse prijetno posedeti na terasi v poslusanju petja ptic. Zjutraj pa sva bila delezna okusnega lokalnega zajtrka. Hvala druzina za to cudovito izkusnjo in srecno naprej. Bil je super postanek na poti v Pueto Viejo. Lokacije ni tezko najti, kot pisejo nekateri. Ce si zelite dan preziveti v pristni naravi, je to kraj za vas👍

Cons: Vse mi je bilo vsec. Mogoce za druge popotnike - nastanitev je v obliki predelanega kontejnerja in mogoce ne nudi vse udobnosti, ampak v tem primeru je narava tista, ki odtehta.

Pros: Un hospedaje muy lindo, cálido, la atención al 100 y las instalaciones muy lindas, limpias y confortables.

Cons: Que duré muy poquito ahí, me hubiera gustado pasar más días ahí
