Pros: Beautiful gardens. Abundance and variety of birds to see from balcony. Fantastic breakfast, best coffee I’ve had anywhere in Costa Rica. Owner Sergio let me play his lovely guitar which after several weeks of travelling made my day!

Pros: The dinner was excellent after we had to ask to have meals. The view was lovely and breakfast good. The owner was friendly and views lovely

Cons: The road up is absolutely awful so then you don't feel like leaving until you have to and no real walks out of the property. So this put us off going to explore the area A fridge and kettle in the room would be nice but when we asked we were given a kettle

Wow. Superb and memorable stay.

Pros: Fantastic view and garden; host amazing and informative. Breakfast was fab. Would love to have stayed longer.

Cons: The driveway was horrid. The sides need to be filled in so that one does not slip off the track. We were disappointed that there was no supper option when we stayed and we therefore had to drive into town and drive in the dark up the track.

Pros: Staying at the Lodge felt like a full immersion in the forest. High above the lake, the room's patio had an amazing view over part of the Lake and close to a ancient (500 years) tree. Our host was extremely kind and helpful, and this experience was certainly an highlight of our trip.

Pros: Beautiful views, wonderful breakfast and the coffe brewed in traditional Costa Rica way!

Room with a view!

Pros: Stunning view from terrace to western end of Lake Arenal and intersting birdlife in garden and surrounds. Peaceful and super friendly host. Accommodation simpke, clean and comfortable. Hammock on terrace cool. Good breakfast with great coffee (and friendly cat!)

Cons: Shower was cool. Driveway concrete but quite steep in places so good to arrive in daylight to familiarise as cpuld be problematic in places if you came off track.

Spectacular

Pros: The property is located in an amazing setting overlooking the lake with spectacular views. The gardens are stunning with an array of wildlife and a never ending chorus of insects, birds and monkeys. Sergio is the best host. He has extensive knowledge about the country. The breakfasts are amazing, best coffee and the bananas from his garden are to die for

Incredible place to stay !

Pros: Everything ! The view is just incredible and the quietness is golden ! Sergio is a really lovely host who’s really looking after his guests making sure that they have everything they need. It was the best place I’ve been to during my trip to Costa Rica. There was a little issue with the shower of the bedroom but Sergio was super nice and proactive to provide a solution. I was also lucky to benefit from an upgrade and stay for the same price in the most beautiful room with a view on the ceiba! Well in a nutschell is was amazing !

Cons: That I could not stay longer so nothing to do with the hotel !
