La Anita Rain Forest

Like arriving in paradise ! Fabulous experience.

Pros: Amazing location , for truly being right in a rainforest while having every comfort. Breakfast brilliant

Cons: Nothing !

Fantastic, well-run location with amazing chocolate to boot!

Pros: Fantastic cacao farm which supports its community with great staff. Amazing wildlife, walks and food.

Cons: It is a long way from everywhere - or rather it feels like it is, as the road to get there is pretty potholed! Once there, this falls away as it is stunning!

It was the adventure we were looking for

Pros: Real family run Cacao plantation and chocolate factory. Breakfast and dinner were great - ranch style. The chocolate tour was incredibly educational and eye opening to the history of chocolate. The accommodation was really good and we slept well without windows (just screens) - wonderful rainforest experience. Horse riding was arranged for us absolute beginners..

Cons: Despite excellent instructions on how to get there we still managed to take a ‘shortcut’ over a mountain track in our 2 wheel drive car. We discovered the button called ‘descent control’ and that helped us arrive safely. Stick to the main roads.

Pros: Amazing location in the rain forest, on private property. So much jungle. The best food during our trip, everything homemade and the owner Pablo is friendly and very helpful. We decided to book a dinner which tasted amazing, soup as a starter and fish for main. Try the homemade granola for breakfast!:) The property has even its own chocolate factory there, and we bought dark chocolate which was also great! The room itself gives you the complete jungle experience as you can hear the sound of the jungle while sleeping.

Cons: The bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner, but I guess that’s just the humidity there.

A wonderful peaceful staying with exceptional hosts

Pros: We loved location, the staff and the relaxed atmosphere. The chocolate tour was simply amazing, we learnt so much. We also had a fantastic cooking lesson. Wish we had stayed another night!

Cons: Nothing about the property, but would highly recommend a four wheel drive vehicle to visit

Beautiful Ranch

Pros: The hotel is in this beautiful ranch in the middle of the jungle, amazing sky and surroundings and you feel alone in the middle of the jungle

Cons: More flexibility for dinners and breakfast will be great. It’s very early and not convenient for people in holidays

2 Families having a great time

Pros: The hosts, Ana and Pablo, were SO kind and involved in making your stay wonderful. Absolutely need to do the chocolate tour-they make an exceptional product and teach you so much. The property is stunning....pics don't begin to show you how beautiful it truly is.

Cons: Everything was exceptional. Make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle to get to the property...this is standard in many parts of Costa Rica.

Absolutely recommended!

Pros: We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. The best was the caring hospitality of the owner Pablo and Ana. We learnt a lot about the farm, chocolate and the living conditions of the people around. The staff were always helpful and very friendly. We simply felt at home!

Pros: The property was beautiful. Very remote and peaceful. Great for bird watching.

Pros: Beautiful scenery, clean and very helpful and hospitable staff! Highly recommend!
