Pros: Great family owned resort. Close enough to the airport to settle and spend a few days. Amazing active volcano is nearby, with amazing thermal pools and views in the resort. Close to Rincon de la Vieja, to Llanos del Cortes, to Palo Verde. Great stop on the way to La Fortuna or Monteverde. Amazing, friendly, and attentive stuff. Yummy food, with included rich breakfast and reasonably priced dinner. I love this place, and I stayed twice. It's really relaxing and magical.

Amazing!

Pros: Super helpful and friendly people. It’s a family run hotel and that shows. Super location as well with nice hot springs and we also had one with our room that was amazing. The food and drinks are exceptional especially for the price.

Relaxing spot to enjoy hot springs

Pros: What a fine. Off the main tourist routes. So many pools to lounge in… all differing styles and temperatures

Cons: You need to be aware that the resort is open to day trippers too

Pros: Honestly far exceeded our expectations. Really great staff, great breakfast and restaurant dinners. The pools were very clean, the grounds were nice. Very quiet nights and then birds, frogs, toads, and iguanas for kids to find during the day. Everything was awesome and at a reasonable price too. Good location if you want to explore the various hiking from Rincon de la Vieja southeast to Rio Celeste. Felt like a resort but isn't priced like it.

Cons: Minor but note: bungalow description suggested it had a \

A lovely clean bungalow in a fantastic setting with its own hot tub and use 7 other pools to relax in

Pros: The setting, the thermal pools, the rustic feel to the place. The quiet seclusion and most of all our private hot tub just off our balcony overlooking open countryside. The bungalow was also spotlessly clean The staff was friendly and helpful. American breakfast was very good and great coffee I had been missing.

Cons: The only thing missing was a kettle to make a coffee on waking up. Few Costa Rican hotels seem to offer this - what I consider essential. It was very cloudy and windy all afternoon so couldn’t make full use of the thermal pools but that’s not the hotels fault. Fortunately, our private pool was warm and sheltered so we stayed there. It was lovely.

Pros: I would highly recommend staying in these bungalows. We had one that had a private pool off the back deck. It was so nice to end and start our day in the private hot spring right outside our door! The staff are very attentive, printed off an activity sheet for us with things to do in the area and the food in the restaurant was good. We saw tucans, parrots and capybara on the grounds while we were in the hot springs.

True Cost Rican family resort to visit

Pros: So glad we went there! To us this was true Costa Rica. It is run by the friendliest and warmest family you will meet in CR. Also rhe bungalow is basic but has it all, next to that the many many hot spring pools are amazing (including fhd views) with a lot of wildlife around and finally fhe food and restaurant is authentic and great too. If you want a true Costa Rica experience, this is fhe one to book!

Cons: The only thing would be that dayguests (who can buy tickets just for the pools) tend not to clean up after themselves? So trash is left for the wildlife until the friendly staff cleans it. So maybe even more trash binns? (Although it could be a CR thing to just leave waste, we have see it elsewhere too a lot)
