Pros: This place is a nature experience at your doorstep of your room. Waking up to the sounds of nature is just incredible. The volcano view from the pool area, is just wow. The staff is incredible and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend this place. The hot springs here were such an awesome experience, so many tubs of different temperatures to chose from. I would stay here again in a heartbeat

Great location to have fun in the nature

Pros: Nice, atmospheric property. Lush gardens, pretty rooms. All services and facilities were as described. Rio Negro thermal river spa was nice, the hotel is also a convenient location to go visit the Las Pailas trail of the Rincon de la Vieja national park.

Cons: Roads were horrible - gravel, with so many potholes the speed was about 10 km/h in all the surrounding area. No need for 4x4 though.

Pros: I went during the low season but lucky with the weather and it felt very lovely and private and not crowded

Family adventure fun

Pros: Loved all the activities that were available. We did the tubing, the horseback riding to a waterfall, the mud and hot springs, and the national park hiking trails. We also liked to all the waterfalls and ponds. I highly recommend you don't skip any of them. I wish I had time to do the zipling and canyoning.

Cons: Too many potholes on the roads. They need to be fixed.

Lovely but pricey

Pros: Access to the volcano and beautiful waterfalls. The newer rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The restaurants offer very tasty food and drinks.

Cons: The hotel and restaurants are expensive overall.

Totally pays off to stay a night and visit everything it includes

Pros: We've stayed here basically because it includes the access to many interesting places close to the National Park, and those are worth it when included in the stay; paying for the access to the Oropendula waterfall + Rio Negro + the other waterfall + the blue pools in a family of 4 is ridiculously expensive, but when included in a one night stay it is well worth it. This being said, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was good (the pineapple and the banana bread were ridiculously good) the majority of the staff was nice and helpful.

Cons: Some staff reception was not very friendly or helpful, which was a first after 10 days in Costa Rica.

Pros: Excellent place for many adventures! Hotsprings were fabulous as well as the Waterfalls. One could do as much or as little as one wanted. Well marked paths and informed staff. Excellent breakfast with many choices. Left my tablet in our room and was informed by the front desk they would keep it for me, great service!

Cons: Dinner in the main restaurant wasn't anything special. My chicken was quite dry. Quite a bit of confusion with our order as appetizer arrived after main course. The main waiter apologized and offered us a complimentary dessert. Good PR.

A solid four stars

Pros: Enjoyed our three nights. Room was very comfortable, spacious with great views over the garden. Breakfast selection was excellent, though very busy with service for tea/coffe/juice slow at times as this wasn't part of buffet and was served at table. Evening food good with reasonable prices, but timing for restaurant bookings not flexible, either too early or late. Canopy bar much better as no reservation required and nicer surroundings. Very disappointed with Thermal Springs, crowded with tours and large loud groups. Hotel pool was much enjoyed and beautiful gardens with lots of birds and wildlife.

Brilliant place for advebture activities

Pros: Lovely spacious rooms, on site tours tubing, horse riding and zip lining absolutely brilliant. Breaks fast was lovely. Sadly - pizza and spaghetti bolognese we couldn't eat and it was pretty expensive
