Switzerland 🇨🇭

Place to go in San Jose

Pros: Felt great, coming back to our favorite San Jose hotel, the room was even nicer than the one we had last time, and the super friendly staff remembered us, when we showed up. We can only recommend that place, whether you are passing through or staying some time in San Jose, as it is in a nice and interesting area close to University of Costa Rica.

An enjoyable stay in a friendly hotel

Pros: Breakfast was excellent, and always served with a smile. The place is a lovely homely hotel, not a cookie cutter chain, but a place to relax in that feels like the traditional Costa Rica. Security was good and lovely to wake up and walk outside to hummingbirds and butterflies

Cons: There was no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan

Delightful boutique hotel in San Jose

Pros: This is a delightful property next to the University of Costa Rica campus. The rooms are all unique and the staff exceptional in their courtesy and help. Breakfast is simple but delicious and the Kracovia café at the entrance serves excellent food all day.

Silent, comfortable, lovely surroundings, requires transportation to visit San Jose

Pros: Very nice hotel, beautiful decoration, nice staff, clean rooms, good wifi, very silent with birds chirping early in the morning, very good breakfast options, within 20 - 35 minute walk to University of Costa Rica - which is good if you have meetings there. Ideal to isolate yourself from the world. Nice restaurant inside hotel, with many Polish specialties.

Cons: Isolated from the historical/museums area of San Jose (need taxi/Uber), hard to walk outside anywhere because of location - you need to be relatively in form to walk outside, and this hampered my enjoyment of the place (my age and mobility problems). Google maps and similar do not show sharp inclines everywhere. Except for breakfast and a couple of dishes in restaurant, typical local food not offered.

Pros: Very friendly and kind staff. Beautiful garden and nice facilities. Good wifi connection. Breakfast was delicious. The location is great for events at UCR.

Very convenient location, very nice property, could use a more professional hotel management.

Pros: The location is excellent, right next to UCR - the University of Costa Rica. The house is a lovely building, with a carefully maintained garden.

Cons: Breakfast is below standard, especially when there are few guests in the house.

Pros: Clean hotel, kind staff. Room with very comfortable beds, nets for protection against mosquitos on windows. Close to the university campus with large green area.

Cons: More wardrope space for the clothes would be appreciated. Breakfast was good, but not very varied.

Amazing food, great stuff, beautiful location, safe.

Pros: The property is beautiful, clean, comfortable and has its own little paradise just near the malls and main roads. So you do not really hear any traffic especially during the night. It is actually a peaceful garden within the chaos.

Cons: Nothing. It was perfect!
