Chongos Place

Clean & comfortable with beautiful scenery!

Pros: Because we had a car, this locations was perfect. In the mornings, we would sit on the porch and enjoy watching the birds, horses and cows in the field behind the property. The scenery overlooking the volcano is beautiful. The drive into the city was quick and easy. The family who own the company are kind and generous and took care of our needs. Google translate was an asset to alleviate the language barrier.

Pros: Great view, beautiful garden and pool, comfortable bed, everything was clean, and in the small kitchen area you can make your own food as well.

Quite , simple place. With parking.

Pros: The balcony is nice, to sit, drink tea, and view the Arenal volcano covered with clouds. Parking is in the place.

Cons: The rooms furniting is very simple, the TV remote control did not have batarries. We arrived in the evening, and it was hard to know where exactly the place was. There was no sign and no person in the reception.

Excellent stay in La Fortuna

Pros: Excellent location in La Fortuna, joungle sounds but no sounds from the streets. Very friendly owner. Beautiful garden and….the Arenal view. I highly recommend. :-)

Cons: The shower could be a bit better (but that is a tiny problem).

Pros: Quiet, peaceful location, next to countryside, views of the volcano, lovely small pool to cool off, secure parking area - nearest decent shop restaurants quite a distance if you're walking

Cons: Cooking facilities and equipment were limited

La Fortuna Getaway

Pros: The location was perfect for us. Off the beaten path a bit with no traffic noise whatsoever. Being just 2 miles from the base of the volcano was spectacular, unmatched views. The covered porch was a huge asset as you could enjoy the sights and sounds even when it was raining. The host, Diana, was fantastic. Very friendly and responded quickly to any questions we had.

Cons: The property next door had some noisy guests, but that's not something Chongos can do anything about. Other than that, there was nothing we didn't like.
