Vida Aventura Ranch

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. My wife and I really enjoyed the Costa Rican–style breakfast, while our kids were very happy with the pancakes — a great start to each day. The staff were exceptionally friendly and especially kind and welcoming to children, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel’s isolated setting was a big plus for us, as it allowed us to fully disconnect from our usual routine and relax. It’s also conveniently located close to several entrances to national parks, making it a great base for exploring the area. Overall, a relaxing and family-friendly place that we would happily recommend.

Nice place in remote area with good comfort

Pros: We stayed two nights on Vida Aventura in room 5, one of the two apartments on ground floor level. Very clean. It had one very large bed, a room with twin beds and a single bed in another place, rooms with beds not divided by doors. There even was a large kitchen. The advantage of the disadvantage that Vida Aventura is located at the end of a rather bad (only the last few km) unpaved road is the remote and quiet location. No mass tourism. The additional dinner, very convenient because of the location, was good. The way to the Natural Park is easy to drive and takes about 30 minutes. We liked the swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Cons: The large restaurant in particular lacks atmosphere and coziness. The windmills in the neighbourhood - not visible from the accommodation- don’t fit with the landscape and the image CR wishes to spread of unspoiled horizons.

Great stay!

Pros: I was very pleased with the kidness of all the employees. You felt they want to give you a very nice vacation. The rooms are clean and nice. The pool with the slide is a very nice bonus especially when traveling with kids. The horse ride was fantastic with the views on the volcano and just with our family.

Cons: Depends on your taste. The breakfast with pancakes or white bread is typical american. I would prefer the tico breakfast rather, which contains more healtier nutritions.

Pros: A really nice, remote and quiet place ! We really enjoyed our stay and the jaccuzi after a long day of activities .

Pros: Sunsets and rainbows. Delicious home cooked meals! Knowledgeable and interested host.

Pros: The space, the view and the friendly owner Jorge with his 2 friendly small dogs The apartment is spacious with very good beds We slept very long here because of the silence and darkness

Cons: The shower can get an upgrade

A great option when visiting Rincon de la Vieja, recommended!

Pros: Jorge is an amazing host, very friendly, always available and happy to help to anything you need. The room was cozy and clean, the pool with the water slide was great for the kids and the dinner was delicious, kudos for the cook. The setting is also very nice.

Cons: Getting there is not easy, the roads are really bad, but that's not on the ranch

Pros: I liked how quite it was. You could see all the stars in the skies and hear lots of crickets at night. The host was exceptionally attentive and welcoming.

Cons: My only suggestion is to oil the bathroom door hinges as it was very loud to close and open that door. Also adding a few forks to the utensils in the kitchen.

Lovely environment.. Fabulous countryside but beprepared for it to be very remote

Pros: Loved the dome accommodation and amazing views of the countryside.

Cons: The restaurant environment.. a bit like a outdoor children’s summer camp The pool slide was not working and the jacuzzi was not in action/ turned on I booked a ride which was nearly an hour late although the ride catered well for my request

Pros: We enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for accessing Rincon. Our family of 4 enjoyed the quiet ranch, the pool and the sweet dogs at the ranch. Perfect for what we needed while in the area.
