Welcoming and friendly guesthouse for a short stay in the capital.

Pros: This is the perfect guest house for a short stay in San José. It’s close to the centre, in a safe area, and has such a welcoming feel. Paula, the owner, is absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed our two-night stay and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable and convenient before heading off to explore the rest of Costa Rica. It worked perfectly for us.

Cons: It is quite noisy in the morning but it didn't really bother us. We were up early anyhow. Otherwise it was spot on!

Pros: Paula was an amazing host, super welcoming and the accommodation was comfortable and good value for money, with access to a kitchen and porch area.

Convenient, clean and comfortable.

Pros: Located close to the city centre and bus station we we using the following day. The building is an old colonial building with a central courtyard. It was very clean, safe and comfortable, access to a shared kitchen was available. The owner prepared a fruit breakfast and tea/coffee which we weren’t expecting so we were pleasantly surprised. I would happily stay here again if I transition through San Jose at any point in the future.

Quiet, clean and comfortable

Pros: The house is very nice, very clean and well kept, a good example of a traditional colonial house. Although windowless, which is common in this type of houses, the room was large and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a good shower. Good AC. There are only a few rooms, so the place was very quiet, and the owner was always very nice and eager to help. There are a few restaurants nearby, and it’s an easy walk to Avenida Central. It is also close to some of the main bus stations.

Pros: Very nice home stay in a great location for downtown, Chinatown and the bus station! Mayela is also a lovely host. She does not speak any English but that was not a problem for us. Felt very safe and secure

Comfortable

Pros: The stay was comfortable. The lady is friendly but cannot speak English. Using Google translates you can get a long way. The room itself was spacious enough, smelled fresh and clean. There is also a big kitchen you can use which is not on the photos. Location is close to China town. Walkable distance. Also close to Tracopa bus station.
