Punta Marenco Lodge

Wonderful stay

Pros: Location is quite isolated but the setting is beautiful with stunning views over the rain forest to the Ocean. Just a short walk down to some very nice beaches with a trail which takes you on a fairly long walk to Drake Bay. Amazing variety of wildlife around the lodge and the surrounding area. Staff were excellent.

Cons: Rooms are pretty sparse and could do with a safe but otherwise all good. No Wifi in room.

Nice location

Pros: The location is excellent, you can see so many birds flying around the terrace and the beach is only short walk away. There is a beautiful path along the coast and you can hike there alone.

Cons: The representation of the cabanas is not very accurate. The standard cabana doesn’t have a balcony or an ocean view, there are also no pictures of it on web and if I knew how it looked - I wouldn’t have booked it. It’s very basic - no soap at the bathroom, no power sockets and definitely not very clean.

Dream stay in Drake

Pros: This hotel is a gem in the middle of the jungle. The view, the surrounding, the calmness, its people. I can only recommend.

Cons: Nothing. It could have been better to get a cabin facing the beach, but that is up to availability.

Amazing location

Pros: Amazing staff, very kind, helpful and organized, taking care of everything. They also helped to coordinate shuttles and pick-up for the tours we booked, so for all trips we were picked up directly at the beach at 10 minutes walking distance. Best location of all our stays in Costa Rica. Beautiful nature and view of the sea.

One of the best places ever

Pros: One of the best places we ever stayed at! The bungalows with sea view are fantastic - you are surrounded by wonderfull rain forest, toucans, aras, monkeys, coatis, the Pacific ocean - everything you need. The bungalows are very modern, nearly new and superclean, the view from the balcony is so great! The staff is very friendly and breakfast + food are also great. You reach the beach in only a 5 minutes walk, the ocean is great, you can swim there. We went to Punta Marenco by car (normally you easily go there by boat) - by car you DEFINITELY need a huge 4 x 4 because you have to cross a river and the pavel road is a real adventure. We would definitely come back to Punta Marenco Lodge and would stay there much longer ☀️☀️☀️

Very pleasant stay at Punta Marenco Lodge.

Pros: The staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel has an amazing view and the food was very good. There's a lot of wild life around the hotel. The experience was incredible.

An experience worthwhile for 2-3 days, else to expensive.

Pros: The views from the restaurant and our casita, the wildlife, the food, the friendly staf

Cons: Plastic seating on our terrace was unconfortable and there was only 1 hammock. Very limited space with internet connectivity.

Pros: Stunning location, deep in the rainforest with views of the ocean. The staff made us feel like family. Shoutout Samuel and Gerson

Magical place

Pros: The location is absolutely fantastic. Being situated within a natural reserve, you can enjoy watching a variety of birds while having breakfast (the hotel’s breakfast is excellent). Additionally, you can visit multiple beaches that are peaceful and uncrowded. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, making the experience even better.

Cons: However, getting to the hotel can be challenging. We chose to drive, and as our journey extended into the night, it became quite difficult. The road is unpaved, making nighttime travel particularly tricky. The place is quite remote, far from the nearest city, and there is no internet signal, which makes navigating the route even more complicated.

Pros: Awesome staff. They really took good care of us. Strongly recommend. Lots of birds in the yard.
