Hotel Arenal Lodge

Very nice stay at Vulcan Arenal!

Pros: The place and outlook are very nice on the vulcano, from room and from jacuzzi :) The secret hike trail is very nice and should not be missed (Mariposa trail?). Jacuzzi is also very nice extra.

Cons: Breakfast could be a little more. You can choose from a menu. It was good, but an additional side or some bread would be nice. The street to the hotel could better maintained.

Best stay in Arenal

Pros: Location is unbeatable secluded, facing the mountArenal. Staff exceptionally nice smiling and accommodating. Lots of character, very nicely designed. Nice breakfast with endless birds right out of the window. Excellent base for trips in all the sites around. Have a private rain forest trail. Wonderful. Two complementary Jacuzzis

Cons: Lighting in the room. It's way too dark.

Charming gem with amazing views

Pros: 70s charm. Atmospheric and thematic interior, wooden style. Nice beds. Excellent jacuzzi and pool with amazing view. Beautiful garden with many (!) birds. Staff were helpful. Jungle trek was a bonus - mind your step! Wifi works.

Cons: Breakfast was fine - but not amazing. Property Needs some investments - like the driveway (10 mins from main road) and paths on the property, hummingbird garden (out of use) and natural baths inside jungle. I would keep the original vibe of the rooms (fun style), but update bathrooms as well.

Stunning views of Arenal volcano- an exceptional hotel

Pros: Great facilities- I went horse riding- wonderful. We had a chalet - breathtaking views. Jacuzzi- gorgeous. Jungle trail was nice too. Restaurant food was exceptional and fairly priced.

Cons: The 2km drive from the main gate was quite a challenge for our little Geely, fortunately it was dry for our trip up to the jungle nestled hotel and we enjoyed the hotel so much that it was definitely worth the journey.

A good base to explore Fortuna and Arenal

Pros: Great location and having outdoor space to sit in the junior suite

Cons: Noisy neighbours - poor sound insulation. Room was a bit dark.

Unforgettable

Pros: The premises are absolutely stunning. We were in a junior suite and the view when we woke up was just amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful, food is good and the rooms are comfortable, spacious and have everything you need.

Cons: People are complaining about the drive to get there but we actually liked it. Scenery is great. Rooms are indeed a bit outdated in terms of style but that just adds to the charm of this place. They’re very clean and comfortable.

Wonderful, cozy, secluded place, ideal for a romantic or relaxing weekend.

Pros: Excellent, hearty breakfast, plus free refills of coffee or hot chocolate.

Cons: Breakfast was better on the first day. On the second day (Sunday), there were more guests, and it seems our portions were smaller as a result. That should definitely be improved. Other than that, the place is well worth a visit.

Fantastic place with pool, green around and the best volcano views

Pros: Fantastic place, loved the location and our chalet facing the volcano. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the common areas very nice, the restaurant a great option not to have to drive somewhere else. We even enjoyed family pool games having drinks and after dinner. All great, definitely a great place to stay, especially if you prefer to avoid the town area (still being 20-30 mins away).
