Arenal Oasis Eco Lodge & Wildlife Refuge

Pros: Oasis in a middle of jungle where you cen see lot of birds and other animals. The best what you can choose in this location. Perfect restaurant with good prices.

Pros: Great location with own trails and butterflies dome, natural cottages, super friendly staff

Cons: Breakfast starting at 7am, it woyld be better at 6am or more generous breakfast to go

Pros: - The nice bungalows within the nature and wildlife - excellent breakfast, with birds explosion!

Cons: - Bathroom a bit rusty dusty

Exceptional

Pros: I absolutely loved this property it was the best accommodation we had across our month trip in Central America. Our room was massive and the beds were so comfortable, genuinely the best sleep we had. The property is so beautiful and full of wildlife. We also did a night tour with them and saw a huge abundance of animals. I can’t recommend this place enough!!

Pros: Lovely forest retreat with charming wooden houses surrounded by nature. You can stroll through the park, visit the butterfly dome, and enjoy breakfast while watching colorful birds, squirrels, and even coatis. The staff are friendly and helpful, going above and beyond—even assisting me in removing a tick.

Perfect. 😍

Pros: Spacious room with an exceptionally comfortable bed. On-site restaurant with friendly and helpful staff and food was delicious. The beautiful setting and wildlife.

Cons: Personally I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

very nice hostel in the forest

Pros: Nice location with own forest. Friendly personnel and good breakfast.

Cons: a little further from town, need to use uber or car to get there

Beautifully located inside a small reserve

Pros: Wonderful set up, immersed in nature Location was relatively close to town, 15 minutes walk..5 minutes Uber drive if you decide to go to the actual centre

Pros: Cute bungalow in the jungle. Front desk staff were exceptional in orienting us to excursions and making arrangements for us. Breakfast facing garden with many birds, howler monkeys nearby. Highly recommend the sloth tour where we had a guide and driver just for us and we learned where to look for these animals in trees around town. Also the night walk to see snakes and frogs. This is a special place.

Cons: Can’t think of anything. It was all fantastic.

Gorgeous jungle oasis, perfect distance from La Fortuna

Pros: You feel like you're miles away from the town of La Fortuna because the hotel and your cabin is situated in the middle a jungle like property, but really you're within walking distance from the town. The grounds are stunning and you can go for walks on the trails during the day. After night you can only go on the trails with a guide (because of the creatures of the night). I woke up to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys. They have an open air restaurant on site which was wonderfully convenient for meals. The staff was super helpful and friendly and helped me book some excursions during my stay. Bathrooms have hot water (this is key when visiting Costa Rica, many places don't have hot water.) And my room was sparkling clean every day.

Cons: The bathrooms could use updating, and as is the case in most hotels in Costa Rica, they do not flush even toilet paper down the toilet.
