Pura Vida à la Costa Rica

Pros: The location was perfect ! A little past the center of Monteverde but cosy. Owned by a Costa Rican and managed by a wonderful lady named Milady. Breakfast was included and was good.

Pros: The family that run the lodge were very welcoming and put a lot of effort into making my stay as great as possible! Loved seeing the animals that are around the lodge

Cons: The lodge is a little way out of the main town - but this was known at the time of booking!

Pros: Good place to stay for 1 or 2 nights. Friendly staff, good breakfast, and nice and quiet spot just outside the centre.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Helped us out on drying our shoes after a rainy hike, and was very helpful in organizing a combined zipline and coffee/cacao plantation tour. Rooms we moderate but clean and relatively cheap.

Very friendly and comfortable family run accommodation.

Pros: A lovely friendly family run business. Fabulous freshly cooked breakfast every morning, with the pancakes a firm favourite. Clean and comfortable. Tony, the owner, could not have been more helpful. You do not need to book excursions before you arrive as Tony will help organise everything for you. We had some fantastic guides and experiences. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Very close proximity to restaurants and a supermarket, although a slight walk uphill.

Cons: Rooms lack storage for clothes, but was a very minor thing and did not detract at all.

Pros: Very friendly staff that can help with lots of activity and advice for the area. Good breakfast served in the morning (1 different option every day, but the owner can help with adjustments if needed). Great WiFi connection, the best one so far in our trip.

Cons: The room is a little small but nicely cleaned. AC not available but not needed when the room is actually used (morning and evening). The room to get there is a little bumpy, so take it slow with the car if you are driving :) but so is for all Monteverde ;)

A great place to stay in Monteverde

Pros: The room was beautiful, with flower petals on towels and tissues. Our room was cleaned daily, which was nice after a long day. The included breakfast was very good.

Cons: Parking is a bit tight
