El Sol Monteverde

Pros: A drive ( about 15 minutes to the tiown centre) but with the most fabulous view and often sunny there as when we were there below the cloud level

Cons: Bed sheets and pillows not comfortable

Pros: View from chalet and piscine. Great breakfast. Great advices for tours (chocolate coffee plantation and tour with Vinni at Curi cancha

Amazing place, fantastic views, highly recommended

Pros: Fantastic place! We had a great time there. The view from our cabin was breath taking, changing as the clouds and sun kept changing. The sound and sight of birds were part of the experience and the whole thing was amazing. Javier and Siân are great hosts with extensive knowledge on the area and tours available. The swimming pool is lovely along with the viewing deck up above with once again, incredible views. Facilities inside the room were perfect too. Would go back any time!

An amazing stay at El Sol

Pros: We recently spent 2 nights at El Sol & it was the standout hotel of our trip. The views from the rooms & pool were incredible, rooms were private, the staff were fantastic & breakfast on the balcony was the perfect way to start the day. Would not hesitate to go back to this little piece of paradise in the hills

Cons: Only booking 2 nights - we wish we were there for longer!

Beautiful property

Pros: El sol is a beautiful property. Our accommodation was incredible and had everything we needed. It was spacious and vibrant. The views from the pool area were spectacular. The breakfast being brought to our room each morning was great, delicious and there was ample. It is located outside of monteverde which is what we wanted as we had our own transport. Hosts were great, good communication and advice on hidden gems to stop at on our way to and from our stay. We will definitely be back if we return to costa rica in future.

Pros: The staff were incredibly helpful and the view into the valley from the pool and gardens is beautiful. The rooms are quite quirky with driftwood shelves and brightly painted walls which we absolutely loved. It has a very positive energy.

Cons: It was a little way out of town but not a problem if you have your own transport.

Pros: Fantastic and overwhelming atmosphere. Calm and peaceful place with insane views. The staff is really nice and supportive, the food is delicious- we were really positively surprised!

Cons: Nothing at all

Pros: The staff were super friendly and helpful and always responded in a timely way. They went out of their way to help any way they could (helping us order food delivery and offering help when one of our family members was sick), which was appreciated! The location was beautiful with amazing views and it was peaceful. The service was exceptional and the homemade food was delicious! We loved our time at El Sol. :)

Cons: The only small thing that was a challenge for us (not the fault of El Sol) was that we didn't have a rental car to make travel into town easier. However, their transportation service was exceptional and was always there if we needed transport. Super friendly too!

A truly special place and a real highlight of our trip

Pros: Breathtaking views, immaculately clean and beautifully vibrant rooms, and outstanding food, both breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Siân and Javier provided truly wonderful service and were incredibly helpful with local activities. The natural pool was perfect for a refreshing dip. We honestly couldn’t fault our stay.

Monteverde exceeded our expectations,we loved our stay at El Sol

Pros: El Sol is a real gem, we loved our stay. Excellent attention to detail in our cabin and outside. It was vibrant and beautiful with so much space privacy. The pool and view, perfectly relaxing too.
