Iyok Ami (Madre Tierra)

Pros: fantastic place with amazing garden to hike around discovering plants and animals. Owner and staff very kind, given lots of information. nice fire in the evening.

Cons: Depends on your preference but there are no shops nearby to buy food so need to bring with you or rely on dinner service offered(portions a bit small). when they were cooking our room filled with smoke. only one shower with limited water.

Peaceful cabin surrounded by private trails

Pros: A charming wooden house surrounded by the quietness of nature and beautiful walking trails. Make sure to bring a sweater as this region up in the mountains is the coldest of Costa Rica (7°C at night in December).

I absolutely loved the tracks, they were beautifully maintained and full of stunning views.

Pros: I had the most wonderful stay at this lodge in Costa Rica! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The location is absolutely breathtaking, nestled in nature with incredible views of the rainforest and wildlife right outside your window. Each morning I woke up to the sounds of birds, which made the experience feel magical and truly connected to nature. The food was another highlight. Fresh, flavorful, and made with locally sourced ingredients.

Beautiful premises in the cloud forest

Pros: Beautiful decoration, table tenis, paths in the woods. We were almost alone there It would be interesting to see it in the main season and meeting other travellers loving nature and spirituality. Helpful staff. That' s a pity we didnt meet the owner as he has Czech origin.

Cons: In the rain season it was rather cold ať night. I believe in the hot months it must be great. A bit hard to find without a car because booking shows another location in the map.

Pros: We stayed for one night and it was perfect. Cozy Hostel right by the street but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The staff is very friendly and made us some nice dinner and breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
