One night stay before visiting the park

Pros: A modest but clean bungalow. Good breakfast for an additional fee. Quiet neighborhood, a bit off the beaten track. The owner showed us a talking parrot in the garden and, at night, green frogs with red eyes. A very good place to stop before visiting Tenorio Park.

A hotel that feels like a home stay and is 15 minutes from Tapir Valley Nature Reserve.

Pros: The owners are super friendly and helpful, despite our inability to speak Spanish. Google translate sorted out detailed communications. It felt more like a home stay, rather than a hotel. The whole place is quite rustic with a large garden that contains many iconic Costa Rican frog species, including the Red-eyed tree frog. The rooms are adjacent to the Amistad restaurant, which is very convenient and produces a decent range of food. The property is a short drive from Tapir Valley Nature Reserve, which will be one of the major attractions in this area. We thoroughly recommend the place for a welcoming stay.

Very enjoyable posada style stay

Pros: Friendly reception and personel. En español. Upgrade to bigger family room. Water pressure and temperature good so nice shower. Bed comfortable. Strong fan. Nice food in restaurant. Surroundings, garden and neighbors all contributed to a lovely stay.

Cons: No big complaints! Rooms as descibed. No grand luxury but cosy posada like cabins. For future: The bathroom sink was not in the bathroom but just outside it, in the room. It was small, low and had almost no good lighting ( Impossible to see if theres still toothpaste on your face, or to make up or shave for example ;) ) if any reconstructions are planned we'd advise the posada to change this.

Pros: The food was lovely. The staff were lovely. The parrot was lovely. The views were lovely and the swimming was….you guessed it…..awesome. Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for an authentic Tico experience close to the magical river.

Little gem

Pros: The food is so tasty, the staff is very welcoming and the place is just beautiful. It got plants everywhere and full of birds. A must if you are going to visit the Parque Nacional Volcàn Tenorio and it's Rio Celeste.

Pros: Great location, friendly and kind staff (Gerardine even taught us Spanish :)) delicious food, beautiful garden and surroundings. The speaking parrot is hilarious.

Pros: Very nice site with flowers, many birds. Restaurant very good. Close to Parque Tenorio. Very enjoyable.

Cons: Directions not precise in Booking. Hard to find

Pros: The hostess with her family were super friendly and even told us where to go in the vicinity of the cabins. Even the meals in the restaurant located on grounds were phenomenal.

Cons: The Wifi connection was quite poor in the cabins. It was a little bit hard to find the place because the booking location was pinpointed at a slightly different location.

Pros: Great and silent location. Very nice and helpful family. Quite some wildlife on the premises, e.g. frogs. Very delicious breakfast.
