Pros: Very cozy little house in a beautiful area. Super sweet owners who make delicious completely home made (including coffee!) breakfasts. The bed was very cozy as well. I did see loads of birds right at the accommodation.

Cons: It is a bit isolated from the main town (defo need a car, about 15 min drive from the main town), but overall the majority of accommodations in the area are like that, so I wouldn’t call it a cons just a specific thing to note

Pros: Such a nice place to stay, afar from the city and with an amazing view. We really enjoyed spending 2 days there, watching the sunset and relaxing on the terrasse. It was perfect!

Cons: Nothing. You’ll read in the comments that the road is tricky - it is the first time, but if you have an adapted car, then it’s perfectly fine.

Pros: Great spot. Friendly. Private entire house on a farm property with many birds. Fantastic breakfast. There is a fun local playground our 2 & 4 year old had lots of fun walking to and playing at just 200m away. Close enough to Monteverde but a nice experience outside of it and of course, cheaper for it.

Cons: Not sure I read just how rough the road is. Not their fault but could caution you. Either direction is rough. Rough and steep parts. Holes in the window screens and fully open parts to the doors and windows may put off some travellers. It may be the norm in some areas of CR but we didn't experience that anywhere else. Squeaky doors need some oiled hinges and rubber stripping so they don't bang in the wind which is intense at times of the year. We just closed a few tissues into them to quiet them but this could be fixed.

The ultimate best spot

Pros: Everything you need and more! The host is wonderful, so nice and accommodating. We were able to tour the property to see all sorts of beautiful birds and monkeys, plus she offered some fresh vegetables from her huge garden and made delicious breakfast. It’s super close to the park with multiple point of views of the way. Fully equipped house with comfy beds in the middle of pure nature!

Wonderful stay on a rural Tico finca.

Pros: Our stay in this rustic little house in the country was a nice get away from the bustle of Monteverde. The owner, Ivannia, was wonderful. She paid special attention to our little guy, showing him the farm and animals and letting him help a bit. Beds were comfy. Her breakfast was delivered to our door - fresh home cooked gallo pinto, scrambled eggs, plátanos, pancakes and fruit.

Cons: It’s not that I didn’t like something, but be warned, You need to use low gears and have good brakes coming down the hills to the house.

Pros: Nice quiet place, very basic and simple, but has all you need.

Pros: Le lieu est calme avec une jolie vue sur le jardin. Comme il y a eu un vent terrible, nous n’avons pas pu utiliser la terrasse. Le petit déjeuner était très bon et l’accueil très gentil. L’accès se fait par une piste qui était en chantier. Il faut un 4*4 et éviter de rouler la nuit

Pros: Ausgezeichnete Lage mitten in der Natur. Wundervolle Gastgeber. Gutes Frühstück. Gute Ausstattung. Hängematten am Balkon mit Sicht auf den Sonnenuntergang Richtung Pazifik. Diese Wohnubg hatte wirklich alles, was das Herz begehrt und war preislich unschlagbar. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hierherkommen, nächstes Mal nur noch länger.
