Room2Board Hostel and Surf School

Pros: Great location only a few steps from the beach. I arrived for a short trip on a week day so I had a 4 bed room dormitory for myself which was very convenient. Kind staff and clean room.

Pros: Very clean, well equipped, and located right by the sea. Great rooftop terrace.

Cons: It's more like a hotel complex and not social. The volunteers only did the bare minimum, and they weren't the most motivated. Some were completely overwhelmed and constantly needed help and had to ask questions; they couldn't even give me any information about the nuts.

Surf & chill hostel with a bar and pool

Pros: Modern hostel in the southern end of Jaco beach. Cool vibe, nice pool, definitely catering to younger crowds with parties, surfing, pool. The rooftop terrace is spectacular for sunset watching. Yoga classes are offered as well (free on Sundays).

Cons: The kitchen is a little on the small side when the hostel is full. I just timed my cooking slightly earlier and was always fine.

Relaxed vibes

Pros: Location, vibe, beach view abd so close, food, pool, hammocks. One night there was spontaneous karaoke. Its quiet in the night, at least while I was there :) friendly staff

Cons: You cannot open the windows !! So you have to rely on AC or a fan, but the sun is obv. hot during the day and during the night I kind of made it work with partial AC and then moving to fan only. Also, more as a watch out if you aren’t a surfr - its a total surfer beach, big waves, and barely anyone with their towels lying on the beach. Has its pros and cons :)

Nice place to explore Jacó Beach

Pros: Friendly staff, very close to the beach, you can have surf classes and also rent a board to practice, and also you can buy pictures of you surfing. There´s a very good coworking space, elevator, restaurant, bar and swimming pool. The place is quiet during the night, good to sleep. There are other restaurants near.

Pros: Great location and the pool was very nice. Great views of the sunset from the rooftop terrace.

Cons: The kitchen was a little on the small side for the size of the hostel

Great Hostel

Pros: This is a great hostel that feels more like a hotel. The staff are experienced and the beds are very comfortable, although having a few more plug sockets near the beds would be helpful. The bathroom facilities and kitchen are all very clean. There are hammocks on the rooftop, plus food and drinks available, as well as a pool. It’s also just a 15-minute walk into town. What more could you ask for?

Cons: Nothing it was a great stay

Hostel vibe with hotel facilities

Pros: We had a private room for 2 with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was shared with only 1 other room. Bathroom cleaned daily. Swimming pool, bar with drinks and food. Good atmosphere. Really close to the beach and direct access to the beach. Shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Parking area next to it.

Cons: Room slightly small for a private room for 2 people and backpacks.

Outstanding

Pros: Proximity to the beach, access to surfboards, bar, pool, top floor with hammocks, nice staff, excellent surf instructor, WiFi, beds, AC, lockers.

Cons: Some of local staff could have been a bit more friendly, shared kitchen could use a clean. Pillows were very hard and big.

Pros: Great views from floor to ceiling windows in private room Easy surf board rental and 1 minute walk to waves
