La Fortuna Natural Green

Comfortable, quiet stay with excellent rooms and friendly staff, but a few operational and design details need attention

Pros: The rooms are excellent — well finished, clean, and very comfortable. Despite other reviews, I had no issues with hot water; the shower was consistently warm and had good pressure, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, and the traditional Costa Rican breakfast was delightful. Staff were friendly and helpful, including assisting me via WhatsApp to book a white water rafting tour. The setting is beautiful at night with the bridge and lights, and the hotel is quiet. Seating outside the room is a nice touch. It’s about a 5-minute taxi ride into town, and Uber is readily available and inexpensive.

Cons: For the price level, the lack of in-room toiletries (shower gel/shampoo) is disappointing — only hand soap is provided. Curtains are poorly designed: they’re too short and very difficult to move along the pole due to friction, which really needs fixing. Early check-in handling was frustrating. Despite requesting it months in advance and arriving before another couple who were checked in immediately, I was asked to wait past the official 2pm check-in time, which caused stress as I had a tour booked shortly after. The grounds are pleasant but feel quite open and spread out, with long walks between areas.

A beautiful place to stay to explore La Fortunas surroundings.

Pros: We loved our accommodation set in beautiful gardens. The room was clean and comfortable. There are a few good restaurants in walking distance down the road and the breakfast is lovely too. We didn’t go into La Fortuna itself but this was only a 5 minute drive away.

Amazing jungle retreat

Pros: Lovely setting, felt like a jungle retreat and the lodge was very nice with a comfortable bed.

Cons: Breakfast options could have been a bit better.

Pros: Beautiful room with airco and a huge comfy bed. The breakfast was lovely and very fresh. We loved the location of the hotel because it was a little bit outside of the busy city centre and so it felt more peaceful. Our highlight was the service, everyone was so friendly and enthusiastic, especially Jesus, he really puts his heart into his work!

Natural, tropical paradise, relaxing.

Pros: Beautiful, comfortable, fantastic location, delicious coffee! We could get picked up for any activities, staff were very polite and helpful. Howler monkeys next to our hut and beautiful flowers and jungle just outside the front door! We watched humming birds while having a shower - it could not of been more relaxing and enjoyable.

Cons: The Jacuzzi was not useful It was not that clean to make us use it Even we choose this lodge for the private pool

Pros: The bungalow was very beautiful from both inside and outside. Also the surrounding nature was amazing. The breakfast was very convenient and tasty.

Cons: No hangers for towels in bathrooms but other than that everything was perfect.

Pros: A wonderful little villa surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. Very private. Delicious breakfasts and professional bartender. Great location for exploring the area.

Cons: Nothing.

Great place to stay in La Fortuna

Pros: The property is beautiful. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome drink and then shown across the bridge to a beautiful pathway lined with flowers and palm trees. The individual cabins are tucked at the end of this and are super private and quiet. I loved how it had a porch and big windows on two sides of the cabin so I could look out at night or during rain. The bed was really comfy. The bathroom was a good size and I loved how large the walk in shower was. The cabin I stayed in felt really new. The location for me was perfect as it was convenient to access restaurants and tours. Breakfast was also really good and made fresh to order.

Cons: Nothing, perfect stay.

Lovely place with excellent staff

Pros: Extremely friendly staff! Thankyou Eric, Gerardo and Octavio for your super service and nice conversations! The place is very pretty and the cottage is clean and has everything you need, het bed is big and comfortable! The shower has hot water. Breakfast is good and Gerardo’s cocktails are to die for !
