Pura Vida!

Pros: Positively remote location, wonderful views, welcoming staff, great coffee, very nice food

Cons: Cold showers - but this didn’t spoil our stay

Bumpy road to magnificent location

Pros: You need a good car, good nerves and some time to spare to brave the bumpy access road (under repair) to reach this lovely basic cabin. Both cabin and garden offer magnificent views on the cloudforest, Bay of Nicoya and the Nicoya peninsula. Sunset and sunrise views come as a bonus with even an incidental rainbow! Good beds but flimsy pillows. Very basic but okay breakfast, optional dinner (order before 16:00hrs) below expectation and somewhat overpriced (US$15 pp). Wind was blowing very hard and noisy, rattling the roof, walls and windows at night so we had to get our earplugs in. (‘Normal for this time of the year-dry season’)

Cabin with a stunning view

Pros: Evverything was great. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Great tasting food, clean accommodation and of course the beautiful views. It was pretty exciting to hear coyotes at night.

Cons: We didn’t mind but the path might be a bit rough for someone.

Jason and Doña Ana were great hosts the food was super delicious

The most stunning place to stay, a little out of town

Pros: This place is a little out of town, but means you get the most incredible views over the cloud forest, and of the sunset The family that run the place were so welcoming and friendly A big spacious room

Cons: The road to the place is quite tough to drive, and uneven in parts - needs some confidence to drive them It can get VERY windy at night - nothing to worry about, but quite noisy

Amazing! It was the best accommodation in town.

Pros: Everything was perfect! From the location and the views to the staff. I loved it! It was totally worth it. Tip for tourists: drive your own car. 🥰

Cons: the drive to the property was a bit daunting the first time, but all is well signposted and we got used to it. I would recommend to arrive during daytime for the first time

Mountain cabins with stunning views.

Pros: Stunning views, very clean and comfortable, lovely food, good value for money, helpful friendly staff. Loved being above the clouds and rainbows!.. enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, butterflies and fireflies in the gardens.

Cons: The journey there is an adventure!.. but ok in a 4x4 vehicle… and signposts to the property. Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable.

A nature retreat with exceptional food and great value

Pros: We truly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us, offering the peace and quiet we were looking for. The accommodation is simple but offers excellent value for money. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was exceptional—we loved every single meal and ended up having dinner there every night. Also worth mentioning that the coffee was absolutely amazing! Thank you!

A beautiful and fresh place surrounded by nature

Pros: This place was perfect for recharging and refreshing after a few days on the beaches of the west coast. Completely surrounded by lush greenery, with coffee and banana plants all around and breathtaking views of the mountains, it offered a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere. The included breakfast, made with products from their own land, was excellent, and their homegrown coffee gave us the perfect boost to explore the nearby nature reserves, just a 30-minute drive away. A beautiful place — highly recommended!
