Quiet, charming, affordable

Pros: Comfortable room, close to the beach, under $200 per night for our family of four, super staff, convenient and inexpensive for surfboards, nice quiet area

Cons: Pool is small and it’s hard to access Tamarindo (40 minutes away) despite being just next door

Pros: The crew was an incredibly warm, kind, and highly organized. They were always happy to help — whether it’s organizing surfing lessons or providing helpful local recommendations. They dedication makes guests feel comfortable and completely at ease. The property is a bit old fashion surf style but I realy like it. They offers everything you need to relax. Guests have access to a swimming pool, small gym and surfing stuff. Every morning caffee was excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend staying there.

Pros: Location was excelente,quite and very clean, the Staff super friendly! Vladimir and Daneila were amazingly nice!!

Hermoso y perfecto lugar.

Pros: This is by far one of the gratest places I have visited. The hotel is small, quiet and has a great peaceful and chill atmosphere. The pool is refreshing, pretty and inviting. The hotel is very close to the beach which can be accessed through a path that begins right in front of the hotel entrance. The beach is outstanding. Rooms are confortable and very clean.

Charming hotel behind the beach

Cons: The rooms are a bit noisy

A quiet laid-back hotel in a quiet laid-back beach town

Pros: A great location a few steps from the beach, and near to other restaurants. The small pool under the palm trees was a great place to hang out and beat the midday heat. Lots of great lounge spots in the courtyard. Our room was bright and spacious. Although breakfast was not included, the restaurant food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable.

Cons: The bathroom plumbing wasn't great, and the meals were rather expensive.

A stay at El Reinas is like staying with family, everyone knows your name and is always helpful

Pros: I loved the chill vibe and super friendly staff here at El Reinas. The room was cleaned as often as I wanted, the floors do tend to get sandy from many beach walks so they came almost daily to sweep at my request. The food is cooked made here and is delicious, Italian and local dishes are generously portioned. I tried the fettuccine con pesto, truffle pizza and many cansada dishes all excellent.

Cons: I'm an early riser and would have liked to have coffee before going out some mornings. The onsite restaurant opens at 0730 which is early enough for most people and in fact, most restaurants in the area don't open until 0800 so El Reinas is your best bet.

Great

Pros: Smiley stuff, there for you with any needs. Great food and drinks and atmosphere. Pool and ambient are amazing. And of course location – 2 min walk and you are on a great beach! Quite a few restaurants within short walking, Rooms are basic but we did not expect otherwise.

Pros: Everything was perfect, little corner of paradise, close to the beach, super great vibes, cute rooms. The staff was great and super helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant is amazing. We loved everything, we did not want to leave. Thank you for making our stay so nice :)

Lovely and relaxing hotel

Pros: Good location very close to the beach. The small center of Playa Grande is a bit further away but there is a restaurant in the hotel and also couple of other restaurants close by. The hotel was clean and staff was very nice. They also rented surf boards.

Cons: There was water breaks almost daily, but it was in the whole place not just the hotel. Not much public transportation, need to take a taxi from Tamarindo to get there.
