Selvita Lodge Arenal

Pros: First of all it was easy to reach. Enough parking spots. A wonderful cat waiting there for me. Then the owners said hi and welcomed my dad and me with such a warm feeling! They made sure we didn't miss on anything. Some of the most wonderful people ive met full of love. Our room was simple but clean with lots of space, a fridge and finally a hot, strong shower! It was quiet there but is well located, supermarket and restaurants in walking distance. And the cabins feel private and yet you can communicate with your neighbours if you wanted to ;)

Surrounded by nature

Pros: Lovely owners, spacious room and a great hot shower. Hummingbirds and Tucans and a sweet cat are just outside the room. The cabin could need a makeover as everything look a bit old. The balustrade outside is too loose and there is nowhere to hang your cloths. Great location to start many adventures! Breakfast at the nearby Restaurant (Ginger) was nice and the boys there helped a lot with arranging trips

Pros: Room was spacious and patio provided good privacy. Room was very well cleaned. There was a reasonable minimart and very nice cafe near by.

Cons: Breakfast was average and not worth the additional charge.

Authentic, comfortable, would stay again

Pros: Spacious, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast optional at extra charge. Nice gardens with birds. Lovely helpful couple who clearly wanted to please. We felt this was a really authentic experience with a Costa Rican family living within the grounds. It’s a little way from the centre, which we liked - there is a nice restaurant, a bar and small supermarket very close by and we used Ubers to reach the reserves and thermal spa. Shuttles (Monteverde, San Jose), pick up and drop off there no problem.

I would definitely stay again. Excellent value and cute spot.

Pros: Overall this is a great place to stay. There are five cabins so it is perfect for a family/group gathering as you can book all of the cabins. My family of six booked two cabins side by side. I was welcomed and my overall experience was very positive. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning and bird-watching. It is a peaceful environment.

Cons: I think a little more attention to the areas that are not obvious. Cobwebs behind headboard area. I also think that it would be great if the tv's were updated to smart t.v.s. They didn't work at all, no cable, no nothing. No breakfast offerings so I think the listing just needs to be updated. This is a family business and the mother cooked breakfast from what I've read in reviews however this was not an option. I get it, things happen but if it's not an option I believe the guest needs to know ahead of time or the listing needs to be updated.

Twitchers paradise

Pros: Excellent quiet location in beautiful bird friendly gardens

Pros: What I have appreciated the most is the very human approach by the lovely couple - Adrian and Irene - who manages the place. Both are very helpful and attentive, and they spared no effort to make my stay comfortable. I thank them wholeheartedly! The room is spacious, clean, with a mini-fridge (practical) and a little terrace just in front, all bathed in a well-cared for garden. I will definitely be back again if I happen to be in La Fortuna one day!

Cons: Minor thing: the Lodge is close to a local road, but it is not very busy, so one can easily walk along

Comfortable, relaxing, delicious food!

Pros: Everything during our stay was fantastic! Our hosts were so incredibly kind and welcoming. We loved starting every morning with breakfast on the porch and ending it watching birds from our patio. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend staying there if you’re in the area!

Cons: No suggestions—everything was excellent!

Ambiente cálido y hogareño

Pros: Fue la mejor desición haber reservado aquí, nos atendieron super bien, la cabañita estaba limpia y muy cómoda, las personas son muy amables y atentos, definitivamente si desea un lugar tranquilo, limpio y sentirse como en casa esta llego al alojamiento indicado.

We felt so welcomed that we didn’t want to leave!

Pros: The location was great — close to everything but well off the busy street. We had our own private cabin, with a porch looking out on the mountains. The host was wonderful — he served us a wonderful breakfast on our porch every morning, with fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange or pineapple juice, coffee, and ham and eggs or rice and beans.

Cons: Absolutely no complaints
